Ch. 2: She had cooties anyways

(I don't really have anything to say besides enjoy XD)

(A few days later)

Brendon was currently rushing around the kitchen trying to make lunch. He had decided on something simple, such as Mac and cheese.

Aspen loved it so he had and excuse to make it, and, you can't burn mac and cheese right?

He walked away and started setting the table when Aspen came bouncing into the room. She had her stuffed bear tucked under her arm, and when she got to the table, she set the bear on top of it.

She tried her hardest to get up onto the chair but to no avail. Since her legs were so short it wasn't really working for her.

Brendon saw her struggling and he chuckled before walking over to her.

"Need help, love?" He smirked when she started to pout.

"Okay fine, darlin'. I won't help you, I'm gonna go finish lunch instead." He chuckled and turned away from her, walking back into the kitchen.

She immediately looked at the chair, then the table, and back to Brendon.

"Wait! Daddy! No I want help! M'sorry!" She whined out and made grabby hands at Brendon when he started to walk back over.

He laughed and walked all the way to her, bending down to her level when he got to her.

"What's the magic word, hun?" "Pwease.."
"Yep, good job." He picked her up and sat her on the chair, turning it so she could reach the table.

Once he had gotten her food and everything situated, he brought his food over and sat it on the table before sitting down.

He began eating, looking up every now and then to make she she wasn't making a mess of herself whilst eating.

He sighed and looked down at the table, seeing his phone light up with a notification.

He didn't even look to see what the notification was before clearing it and looking at his lock screen.

It was a picture of him, Aspen, and Sarah. They had gone out to a nice dinner that night, all dressed up and everything.

The two girls were wearing beautiful dresses, Sarah's black, and Aspen's white, while Brendon was wearing a nice black tux.

He huffed a little and put his phone down, the screen facing the table so he wouldn't have to look at it.

He cleared his throat and looked up at Aspen, the small girl looking up at him smiling, and giggling.

He couldn't help but smile back at her, even if it wasn't really that genuine.

"Hey, how bout this. What if Dally comes over in a few days and we can do something with him for the day?"

The girls eyes immediately lit up as she looked at him, bouncing in her seat a little.

"Yes! I want Dally to come over!" She giggles and claps excitedly.

Brendon smiles and nods at her before picking at the rest of his food.

(A few hours later)

Brendon was sitting on the couch while Aspen played with her stuffed animals beside him.

He sighed before looking at her, a worried expression written on his face.
