I stepped up to the gates of my new school, the school where I would become a Pro Hero. In all honesty, I'm not excited, I find it hard to talk unless I'm at home. I knew people would be asking about my arms and legs, so that made it harder.

My quirk had gone out of control yesterday, and it left marks all over my thighs and arms. I was just praying people didn't take it the wrong way.

I slowly walked into the gigantic school and made my way towards the office. I was told to go get my schedule and locker number.

As I walked up to the opening I looked up at the front desk person. "Name?" I looked at her and spelled my name out in sign language. "Ahh, L/N, here you go." I sighed in relief since she understood sign language. She chuckled lightly. "All the teachers know sign language hun, don't worry." I nodded and bowed.

I made it to my locker and placed all my unneeded items in before heading to my first class, Math. I walked in and found a seat towards the back with almost no seats next to it. There was only one seat, and I assumed no one would want to sit so far back.

As more and more students piled in I watched as a girl with auburn hair sat down next to me as another girl with pink skin and hair pulled a seat next to hers. They both had huge smiles on their faces and they turned to me.

"Hi! I'm Ashido!" "And I'm Uraraka!" They said, almost at the same time. I gave a small wave and spelled my name out in sign language. Both of their faces scrunched up as they tried to figure out what I said. "N/Y/N?" Answered the one named Ashido. "No, it's N/Y/N, right?" I shook my head at both of them before grabbing a piece of paper and a pencil and writing 'Y/N' down.

They both read the paper and laughed at how far off they were. "Nice to meet you, Y/N! I guess we better learn sign language." Uraraka nodded agreeing to Ashido's statement.

The teacher walked in and everyone immediately got quiet. "I was told there was someone who's mute, can you please stand up." I slowly stood up but shrank back down as everyone's eyes looked over at me. "I see, I need to speak with you after class, you're not in trouble." I nodded siting down.

I realize our math teacher was Pro Hero Ectoplasm. I could hardly pay attention in class, due to the fact I had to stay afterwards. He said I wasn't in trouble, but that didn't calm my nerves.

As the bell rang, indicating class was over, I slowly made my way up to his desk. As the last student left he turned and faced me.

"I know you're not deaf, so did you just never learn how to talk or what?" I signed 'selectively mute' and he nodded. "I see, try to be rid that habit, it's hard to become a pro and work well with others of you don't talk with them." I nodded and he motioned for me to get to my next class.

As I was walking towards the classroom, my face fell. "He doesn't understand with selective mutism is, does he? I would try to lose the habit, but I feel such bad anxiety when I have to talk outside of my house." I whispered to myself, inaudible to anyone passing.

I walked into the classroom and took my seat. All the seats were close together so I couldn't avoid everyone this time. I watched as everyone piled into the classroom, clearly excited to be in the famous school.
