(3rd P.O.V)

2 years, 3 months, 27 days

He starred at the small girl walking past. She seemed different, a little off. She seemed around fifteen, but she was tiny and didn't seem to be very well fed. She was wearing long sleeves though it was one of the hottest days they've had.

A part of him wanted to run after her, but he was on his route and she was walking in the opposite direction. He contemplated it a bit before rushing after her. He grabbed her arm, which startled her. She jolted around, a look of distress covering her features.

"Y-y-yes sir...?"

Her voice was hoarse and her eyes were dull. He let go of her arm and cleared his throat. "I'm sorry, I just.. noticed you and.. you seemed.. different..." he didn't seem to know why he wanted to chase after her himself, but he allowed himself to anyways.

"Did I do something wrong?"

He shook his head. "You just seem to.. small. Are you eating enough?" Her cheeks turned a light pink as she turned, grabbing her arm. "Yes sir, I'm fine." He apologized and wandered off.

He couldn't hope but notice the pained look on her face. Something wasn't right, but he couldn't seem to figure out what. He just wanted to walk her home to make sure everything was fine, but he knew it could possibly make things worse.

He had to be Careful...

1 year, 8 months, 6 days

"Hey Endeavor, ready?"

The flame pro rolled his eyes, standing up and following the winged hero out. They were on the lookout for a missing child. She had ran from home and hasn't been back in four days. They had a light description, but it wasn't very narrowed down.

They walked out, keeping their eyes open. They were told she would be very scared when approached, apparently her dad has been known to verbally attack her in public. He has charged pressed against him for abuse, but not enough evidence has been found.

"Split off?"

They agreed to separate and cover more area. Hawks flew above the city, trying to find anyone who looked remotely similar to the description. He saw movement in an alleyway. He dropped down, his shoes clicking as he walked towards the figure.

They moved away, their E/C eyes glowing as she looked at him. He recognized her, it was the girl from seven months ago. She had gotten more fragile, she seemed scared of him, even more so than before.

"Please don't take me back to him..."

He leaned down, his eyes catching hers. "What does he do? We need evidence... I'm sorry but I have to take you back..." She pulled out a rod, it wasn't sharp but it definitely hurt on impact. She swung it at him, tears falling off her cheeks.

"I can't go back-!"

He grabbed the rod and threw it off to the side, trying to calm her down. I'm the end, he picked her up in a hug and flew off trying to go find endeavor. She was crying against his shoulder the whole time, causing him to feel worse about taking her back.
