I watched from afar as all the other students picked partners, leaving me alone, as usual. I didn't try and get a partner, I knew most people would rather be alone for a group project than with me.

"There's an odd number, someone's going alo-" Nezu began, before Pro Hero: Hawks dropped down. "No one has to be alone, I'll be their partner." He had a bright smile, but everyone immediately dropped their partners, wanting a Pro hero for this.

The 'project' we were going was called Heroes and Villains. Very simple, there was twelve teams, six heroes, six villains. Basically whatever team was left standing that side was declared the winner.

He shook his head. "You all had partners, I know who didn't." He headed towards me, kneeling down in front of me and offering me his hand. I gladly took it, only really feeling comfortable around him.

He helped me up and grabbed my hand, continuing to hold it, making sure no one would notice though. It was frowned upon for a Pro to date a student, but we were dating long before I was a student, or he was even a pro.

I was a third year, so our ages weren't too far apart, but we'd both get in loads of trouble if we were caught. We were careful though, no ones ever even thought we were dating, at least as far as I know.

You see, I wasn't exactly the most popular person, if you couldn't tell. Most people picked on me just because it was easy. Things had gotten especially bad during my second year, that's when I got super depressed and thought of trying to kill myself a few times, but every time I thought of Hawk's smile, it always made me stop.

We got to our spots, we were facing the Hero team Amajiki and Togata. We were chosen to be a villain team, obviously. I summoned a battle ax, which almost weighed as much as myself.

I wasn't going to use it to attack, I knew that wouldn't work on either of them, no, I was going to use it to disturb the ground, making it jagged, since Hawks can fly.

I slammed it down, knocking both of them off balance and causing them to fall. Hawks had grabbed my hands and lifted my, I released the ax, causing it to disappear.

Amajiki was back up and Togata had used his quirk to save himself. I sighed, I knew they weren't going to be easy to beat, they were two members of the big three, but I did have the number three Pro Hero on my side.

"It's alright, that was a good move, but Toga's quirk is a hard one to beat." Hawks gave me a reassuring smile, but it didn't help the sinking feeling in my stomach.

The feelings of last year we're slowly sinking back into my mind, digging deeper into my thoughts, filling every thought with something awful. Even the most peaceful thoughts now had darker auras than before.

"We might as well give up, we can't win with me on our side. Just drop me from up here, if I die I die." I closed my eyes, waiting for the feeling of air rushing past me to come, but instead I only felt warmth, extreme warmth.

I parted my eyes, Hawks was holding my close to his chest, not uttering a word. The two on the ground were silent too, they had heard what I said. Hawks landed and set me down, walking over to Nezu while Amajiki and Togata tried their best to 'help' me.
