jensoo - sick

life wasn't hard for jennie. it was in fact quite easy. she has a job, a house, maids to help (much to her disliking), a loving wife, a beautiful daughter and 3 dogs. what more could she want? well, the only thing she wanted was to have her wife by her side more often. she didn't voice this want of hers because she didn't want to sound selfish.

jisoo, her wife, worked long hours so when their daughter was at school, jennie would be home alone, as she works from home. jennie would sometimes tell her daughters school that she would pick her school work up so she could do them at home. this way, jennie wouldn't be completely on her own.

jennie had never told anyone this, but she misses her old life. as much as she loves how everything is right now, she misses being back in New Zealand where no one knew who she was. she wished she could have the best of both worlds, but she knew it would never happen...

jennie snapped out of her daze when she heard the door bell ring. she placed her paperwork on her desk and ran to the door. she was surprised when she opened it to see her daughter standing there with one of jisoos maids standing behind her.

'ella baby, why are you home early?' jennie said, crouching down holding her arms out for her daughter. ella wasted no time for seeking home in her mother's arms.

'the school rang and said could someone pick ella up as she wasn't feeling well.' julia spoke from the door. 'oh, i didn't hear the phone ring?' jennie said standing up, picking ella up in the process. 'ah, yes. i took the call as you were taking the conference call mrs. i didn't want to disturb you.' julia replied, hanging ella's bag and coat on the hanger by the door.

jennie nodded her head and looked to her daughter on her shoulder, who was now asleep. she mouthed a thankyou to julia and bowed. jennie then proceeded to take her daughter to her bedroom to let her rest. she woke ella up so that she could get changed and take her medicine before jennie let her go back to sleep again.

jennie closed the bedroom door quietly and made her way back to her office. once she made it, she slumped down in her office chair and sighed deeply. she was debating on wether to call jisoo and tell her that ella was sick. part of jennie's brain was telling her she should because after all, it IS we daughter too. but the other part was telling her that jisoo was a worrier. she becomes so invested in the things she's worried about that she forgets her cool. but that part also meant that jisoo would drop everything and come home until ella was better. jennie was simply stuck in a predicament.

she closed her eyes for not even a second and her phone began to ring. she groaned and looked at her phone screen. a warm smile spread across her lips and she answered the call, immediately putting it on speaker.

'jennie! where's my ella? why did you not tell me she was sick? how could you not tell me. i was the one that carried our child for 9 months, and you couldn't even send me a short 'ella is sick' message. god i hope she's okay!' jisoo rambled.
'babe, calm down okay?' jennie said, silently laughing at her wife's words.

'calm down? you expect me to calm down knowing my daughter is sick?!' jisoo snapped back.

'yes. i do expect you to calm down jisoo. she got home not even fifteen minutes ago and you already know. like how does that even work?' jennie started then trailed off.

'jennie?! really? the school called me because YOU didn't pick up the phone. i explained that i was away on business and you were at home. i then had a phone call from julia saying that she would get ella because you had a conference call' jisoo explained, sounding calmer.

'ohhh yeah. okay. that makes sense now. anyways. i don't want you coming home okay? you have a deal to settle first. you're not coming home until you've landed it. anyways, you're flying back saturday evening right? it's thursday today. i'm sure ella just needs to rest and she'll be as good as new tomorrow. i'll take care of her' jennie said, rearranging the papers on her desk.
