Y/N's POV
Y/N: *How does he do that?*
Blake: *No idea.*
If you were wondering what Blake and I were talking about it was our teacher, a flame spirit (A/N: Don't question it), who was currently zooming around the room, while teaching, and drinking more coffee than any creature you have ever seen could handle.
Oobleck: Yes! Yes, prior to the White Fang uprising--more popularly known as the War of Faunus and Humans--Faunus were quite happy to leave the human race alone in Atlas. *points to Atlas on a map of Remnant behind his desk.* Now! While this must feel like ancient history to many of you, it is imperative that these are relatively recent events! Why the repercussions of the uprising can still be seen to this day! Now! Have any among you, Human, Faunus or any other species, Been subjugated or discriminated because of your heritage?
A couple of people raised their hands including Velvet after a little bit, even you, and surprisingly Weiss raised their hands.
Oobleck: Dreadful, simply dreadful! Remember, students, it is precisely this kind of ignorance that breeds violence! *sips coffee* I mean, I mean, I mean just look at what happened to the White Fang! From a group helping all species to a Faunus supremacist group! Now, which one of you young scholars can tell me what many theorize to be the turning point in the third year of the War?
Weiss's hand shoots up.
Oobleck: Yes?
Weiss: The battle at Fort Castle.
Oobleck: Precisely! And, who can tell me the advantage the Humans had over General Lagune's Forces?
Jaune: Hey!
It seems Cardin had flicked a piece of paper at Jaune, startling him awake. Oobleck zoomed over to him.
Oobleck: Mr Arc! Finally contributing to class! This is excellent! Excellent! What is the answer?
Jaune: Uhhhh... The answer... The advantage... that the Humans... had over that guy's stuff...
He looked over in Pyrrha and my direction, Pyrrha pointing to my eyes as I caused them to become stronger and pointed to the now visible aura surrounding them.
Jaune: Uhh... Aura!
Oobleck: Close but not quite Mr Arc you still have a lot to learn. *he sighs disappointedly*
I gave him a thumbs up for a good attempt and mouthed "Nice try.". Cardin, however, was laughing his ass off while abusing his poor table.
Oobleck: Cardin! Perhaps you would care to share your thoughts on the subject!
Cardin: Well, I know it's a lot easier to train a hair-less ape than a proud Faunus solider.
Oobleck and I shook our heads in disgust.
Pyrrha: You're not the most open-minded of individuals, are you, Cardin?
Cardin: What? You got a problem?
Y/N: No but you seem to have several, but we are going off-topic here. Dr Oobleck I have the answer.
Oobleck: Yes? Go ahead Y/N
Y/N: The answer is many of the Humans on the front lines of the fort could not only strengthen their eyesight with their Aura, but they could also transfer that ability to their comrades. Giving them better eyesight than an Eagle Faunus.
Pyrrha: General Lagune faced the Humans arguably better technology even back then and was over-confident.
Blake: He was also inexperienced and made the mistake of trying to ambush the Faunus in their sleep His massive army was hard to maneuver over the unfamiliar tight terrain, packing them tight for elemental attacks from the Humans, and he was at the front lines leading him to get captured. *faces Cardin with a smug face* Perhaps if he'd paid attention in class, he wouldn't have been remembered as such a failure.
Cardin stood up with a fist clenched. You gave him a death stare and motioned to him to sit down. He grumbles but sat down.
Y/N: Good choice.
Jaune, however, made the terrible mistake of laughing at this and Oobleck zoomed up to him.
Oobleck: Mr Whinchest, you and Mr Arc can both see me after class for additional readings *sips coffee*
Jaune: *ears and shoulders slump* Oohhhh...
Y/N: Why would you laugh at that in this class... any other time you'd be fine, but here.
Oobleck: Now! Moving on!
(Timeskip brought to you by Ruby and Y/N snuggling being interrupted by an alarm clock which you swiftly destroy.)
The lesson ended and Team -WB-, -NPR and I exited the classroom, only for Pyrrha and I to stop and tell the others to go on ahead. After a little bit Oobleck comes zooming out of the classroom followed by Jaune who is then pushed over by Cardin.
Y/N: Cardin...
Cardin turned around and ran off seeing me there. but not before he laughs at Jaune.
Y/N: Hmph, coward.
Pyrrha and I went to help Jaune up.
Y/N/Pyrrha: You know I wouldn't mind/really will break his legs.
Jaune sighs and Pyrrha is struck with an idea.
Pyrrha: I have an idea! Here, come with me!
She drags a confused Jaune and me onto the rooftop of one of Beacons buildings, giving us a clear view of Beacon tower.
No-ones POV
Jaune: Pyrrha, I know I'm going through a hard time right now, but I'm not that depressed. *looks off the edge of the roof confusing Pyrrha.* I can always be a farmer or something...
Pyrrha: N-n-no! *Pushes Jaune away from the edge* That's not why I brought you up here.
Cardin can be seen leaning in his windowsill right below the three.
Pyrrha: Jaune, I know you're having a difficult time in class and that you're still not the strongest of fighters, so... we *gestures to Y/N* want to help you!
Y/N: You got to admit, she has a point.
Jaune: Wh-What?
Pyrrha: We can train up here after class where no one can bother us!
Jaune: You think I need help?
Pyrrha: N-no! No, that's not what I meant.
Jaune: But you just said it.
Pyrrha: Jaune, everybody needs a little push from time to time. It doesn't make you any different from the rest of us. You made it to Beacon! That speaks volumes of what you're capable of!
Jaune turned away, lowering his head, and his ears drooping.
Jaune: You're wrong. I-I don't belong here.
Pyrrha: That's a terrible thing to say! Of course you do!
Jaune: No, I don't!
Jaune was angry and Pyrrha's ears were the ones to droop this time.
Jaune: I wasn't really accepted into Beacon...
Jaune turned away from Pyrrha and Y/N who had been silent for a while thinking it over and looking for the words to say what he needed to.
Pyrrha: Wh-what do you mean?
Jaune: I mean I didn't go to combat school, I didn't pass any tests. I didn't earn my spot at this Academy!
He turned to a now shocked Pyrrha and an unchanged Y/N.
Pyrrha: What? But... why?
Jaune: Cause this is always what I've wanted to be! *turns away again* My father, my grandfather, and his father before him were all warriors! They were all heroes! I wanted to be one, too. I was just never good enough.
Pyrrha walked up to him
Pyrrha: Then let me help you!
Y/N's POV
Jaune: I don't want help! I don't want to be the damsel in distress! I want to be The Hero!
Y/N: Every hero ever started somewhere.
Jaune: I'm tired of being the lovable idiot, stuck in the tree while his friends fight for their lives! Don't you understand? If I can't do this on my own... then what good am I?
Pyrrha goes to comfort him but gets stopped by Y/N
Y/N: Don't. Let him be for a bit. It'll be good for him to learn from his mistakes.
Pyrrha: But--
I look at her and she sees that I have a very serious face on.
Y/N: Trust me.
The two departed Pyrrha going back to her dorm and you remaining just outside the door in a shadow. Seeing Cardin go through the door, you enhanced his hearing and listened.
Cardin: Oh, Jaune...
Y/N: I knew I felt someone's Aura nearby!
Jaune: Cardin!
Cardin: I couldn't help but overhear you two from my dorm room. So, you snuck into Beacon, huh? I gotta say, Jaune, I never expected you to be such a rebel!
Jaune: *In a begging tone* Please, Cardin, please, don't tell anyone!
Cardin: Jaune, come on! I'd never rat on a friend like that!
Jaune: A... a friend?
Cardin: Of course!... We're 'friends' now, Jauney boy! And the way I see it, as long as you're there for me when I need you, we'll be friends for a long time. That being said, I really don't have time to do those extra readings Dr Oobleck gave us today. Think you could take care of that for me, buddy?... That's what I thought. Don't worry, Jaune; your secret's safe with me...
(Timeskip)
I was now in bed with Ruby snuggling up to my chest. She looked up at me with a pouting face causing me to chuckle before scratching behind her ears.
Y/N: Hey Rubes?
Ruby: Yeah?
Y/N: What do you think about Jaune.
Ruby: *Ponders for a moment* He's a bit awkward, clumsy, and not the greatest fighter but, he's kind, caring, and a good friend.
Y/N: Thanks Ruby, just needed to hear someone say that.
Ruby: You're welcome.
Ruby drifted off to sleep after that while I continued to think for a while before joining Ruby and finally falling asleep.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A/N: And that's that 1535 words Woo hoo. Hope you enjoyed this next time I'm gonna try to do both parts of Forever Fall.
Anyways, That's all for now.
Cheerio, Bye!
