Chapter 27 – Gracious Grinders and Grizzly Gangleaders

“You’re coming across as stalkerish,” I muttered, folding my arms over my chest in an attempt at looking brave. Being the girlfriend of Sheffield’s toughest gang leader was not as easy as expected. Apparently, I was meant to be badass as well. I was about as badass as a nun.

“You’re beginning to become a pain in my ass,” the guy growled, taking a step towards me and away from his girlfriend. She squeaked, her eyes widening in clear distress.

“Bambino, calmati,” she soothed, rubbing her hand up and down his tattooed arm. He glanced at her, obviously remembering that she was there.

“Where’s your boyfriend?” he drawled, his voice going back to his usual annoying calm tone.

“At your house banging your mum,” I retorted with a huff, turning on my heels with shaky knees. If Lee didn’t finish puking soon, we were both screwed.

I managed to find Dylan patting a woman’s breast awkwardly to get rid of Lee’s burger. He didn’t look too chuffed, which was the complete contrast of the women, who seemed to be enjoying every second.

After filling him in on the situation, we decided that finding Lee would our main priority. I said that it would be best for all of us if we just left him in the toilets, but Dylan being the Samaritan that he was, insisted that we find him.

“You’re actually vile and every second that you’re wasting in here is costing me valuable seconds of my life. Hurry up!” I yelled, banging on the cubicle door. It swung open, Lee’s face looking pale and ill as he wandered to the sink and took a gulp of the water, gargling it at the back of his throat.

“What is she rambling on about?” Lee asked, spitting the water into the sink and facing Dylan with an annoyed look.

“Asshole she ran into. Apparently you and Hunter know of him?” Dylan offered him, lazily pushing away from the wall to lead the way back to the hotel. Lee had a worried look plastered on his face as we made our way back through the crowd and up into the hotel room. Dylan wasn’t too fussed when we filled him in on it but I noticed him glance around us suspiciously on the way.

Hunter, Seb, Kenzi and Alfie were involved in an extremely competitive game of bullshit when we barged through, each carrying a different expression. Mine, anxious. Lee, sick and Dylan just looked bored out of his skull.

“What happened?” Hunter asked, not moving from his position on the floor. I sighed, shutting the door and dropping behind him, wrapping my arms around his shoulders.

“That gang leader with the beard was at zumba,” I mumbled into his ear, letting his warm hands on my wrists relax me.
