I woke up effortlessly to my alarm at eight the next morning. I slid my plush "Bride" robe over my knee length nightgown and made my way down to the kitchen where my father's chef, Cat Phillips was making breakfast.
"Ah. There's the beautiful bride." She gushed seeing me.
"Hi, Cat." I smiled at her.
"I was thinking ham and cheese omelette with a berry bowl?" She asked.
"Sounds perfect." I smiled pulling an energy drink out of the refrigerator.
Elena was the next to join us, followed by Nic, Chloe and Alisa.
After breakfast I took a shower and Elena helped me put on my white lace strapless bra and matching panties before sliding my silk "Bride" robe on.
Downstairs my hairdresser, Melissa Graham was set up along with four of her employees.
Melissa teased my hair into relaxed waves before twisting the front sections together and securing them at the base of my head with an intricate diamond clasp that my mom wore when she married my dad, as my something old.
Elena's blonde hair was parted at the side and hung in loose waves with an elegant diamond hairpin from our mom's collection so she could wear something that was mom's too.
Nic's blonde hair was also in waves gathered to the side and draped over her right shoulder.
Chloe's red hair was loosely curled at the ends and cascaded over her shoulders
Alisa's light brown hair was down in a textured blowout style.
After insuring that we understood how to care for our hairstyles throughout the day Melissa congratulated me again before leading her team out.
To replace them the makeup artists arrived lead by Stephanie Miller.
Stephanie began with light highlighter bringing out my bridal glow before applying black eyeliner and mascara with white sparkly eyeshadow and finishing the look off with a pale pink lip stain.
Elena and the other bridesmaids also had highlighter, black eyeliner and mascara, and white eyeshadow. Each chose their own color of lip stain. Pink for Elena, nude for Nic, red for Chloe, and dark pink for Alisa.
After the makeup artists left we sat down for a variety of sandwiches for lunch.
My dad walked into the dining room.
"You already look so beautiful." He hugged me.
"Thank you, daddy." I smiled.
He pulled a box out of his pocket.
"When Conrad asked us for your hand your mom went online and ordered this for you." He handed me the box.
Inside were silver teardrop diamond drop earrings and a matching necklace.
"It's beautiful." I smiled my eyes welling up with tears.
"She knew your style." He smiled wiping the tear from my cheek.
"Thank God for cry proof makeup." I laughed.
Dad helped me fasten the necklace as I slid the earrings on.
"Stunning." He smiled at me.
"Something new, check."
After dad left to finish getting ready himself it was time to start getting dressed.
My bridesmaids dressed first and I helped them with any zippers and jewelry they needed help with.
Finally it was time to slide into my wedding dress. The dress was strapless with a sweetheart neckline and a wrap bodice leading down to a perfectly smooth ballgown skirt in pure white. My shoes were also white with silver and diamond accents, a thin ankle strap with diamond drop accents and a three inch heel.
I looked at myself in the mirror and while I loved the look I felt like something was missing.
Alisa smiled knowingly and brought me her veil from her own wedding to Jeffrey three years before.
I wore an intricate silver and diamond bridal tiara that Alisa's pure white blusher veil matched with perfectly. My something borrowed.
Elena left then to deliver my letter to Conrad. Shortly after she left Nic let Devon in who presented me with a letter from my groom.
"Thank you, Devon." I smiled at him.
"You are so beautiful. He's going to lose it when he sees you." He smiled back.
After he left I sat down and opened the letter.
My darling Meghan,
I almost can't believe I get to marry you. You are kind, compassionate, loving and everything I thought I didn't deserve. Every day I wake up next to you I can't believe that you really chose me to give your heart and love to. I love you with every beat of my heart, every breath I breathe. I can't wait to be your husband and grow with you in this life. I love you.
Your groom,
Conrad
I smiled almost involuntarily reading his words. He was more than worthy of my heart and he cared for and protected it unfailing since our relationship began.
I listened to the instrumental version of Faith Hill's Breathe as I watched Alisa and Logan begin their walk down the aisle in the main ballroom of my grandparents estate holding onto my father's arm.
My bouquet was comprised of white roses and black fabric with diamonds with the pearl angel from Lily hanging over my fingers as my something blue.
Chloe and Irving followed three steps behind Alisa and Logan. The Nic and Jude three steps behind them and finally Elena and Devon three steps later.
My dad turned to me and pulled my veil lightly over my face and we stepped into the doorway.
The lyrics for the song began signaling everyone to stand and look our way.
In a way I know my heart is waking up
As all the walls come tumbling down
Closer than I've ever felt before
And I know, and you know
There's no need for words right now
My heart pounded in excitement as we walked carefully down the aisle.
I can feel you breathe
Washing over me
And suddenly I'm melting into you
There's nothing left to prove
Baby, all we need is just to be
At the end of the aisle my father effortlessly passed my hand to Conrad who helped me up to the altar.
Caught up in the touch
Slow and steady rush
Baby, isn't that the way that love's suppose to be
I can feel you breathe, just breathe
Conrad removed the veil from my face and took my hands again looking into my eyes.
"You are so beautiful." He whispered his eyes glistening.
"I love you." I whispered.
"I love you too." He smiled.
