When night came, you slept in your bed for once. You had kept quiet about what had happened outside of the city to Mom and Dad, feeling it wasn't too much to worry about. The dream started out the same again, then did the same thing as yesterday and the day before. The Absol was standing a small distance off, then she started to approach you again. This time, you took a step back, holding out your hand, making her stop.

"Why?! Why are you doing this?!" You demanded. The Absol looked at you for a second, then seemed to give off a smile.

"(Y/n), I wish I could tell you everything, but even in a dream, there's only so much I can tell you." She started approaching you again, despite you still holding out the palm of your hand. "I can only tell you so much in the short amount of time we have here, but maybe if we could speak to each other in the real world, maybe then you could get your answers."

"But why?!" You repeated. "Why would I... why would you.... You're just a Pokémon!" She sat down in front of you, just like last time. It was useless to keep your hand up when she was already in the same spot as the previous two days.

"Pokémon have emotions as well." She said. "Some don't think like that, and they treat others like tools rather than companions."

"C-companions?!" She looked at you, tilting her head partially in confusion.

"That... is what we are, aren't we?" You would have tried to calm down your breathing by this point but breathing in a dream wasn't really necessary. Instead, you stammered as you answered.

"Y-yeah, sure... companions." You looked away, feeling pressured by her words to just say whatever and get it done.

"Then wouldn't you think I should have a name?" Absol asked. You looked at the Absol, really hoping this dream would end right now. You let out a nervous sigh, just trying to play along and hopefully end this as fast as possible.

"A-alright, what did you want to be called then?" She thought for a second, then shook her head.

"I was hoping you could give me one."

"M-me?! Bu.... But... I can't do anything right!"

"I believe you can." Absol said. "You just have to make the effort." You took another step back, but this time you tripped over a log! If this was a dream, why were there... Nothing was making sense, but your dreams normally never did. Absol took a couple of steps forward, looking down at you, still with that same smile.

"Besides, I trust you to make the right choice." Everything started to go white again. When you woke up, your eye-lids weren't wanting to open. You felt something brush on the back of your neck as it adjusted on the bed. Turning your head and cracking your eyes open. You saw Umbreon sleeping on the pillow behind you, groaning slightly as she hugged her tail and went back to sleep. You started turning your head back, shutting your own eyes to do the same until you felt your face meet something soft. As you opened your eyes a bit wider, you almost got fur right in them. Blinking and pulling your head back a little bit to avoid the fur, your nerves went on edge when you saw Absol sleeping right in front of you! You were about to lurch back, but you didn't want to throw Umbreon off with you.

You tried to think fast, trying to get out of this situation as fast as you could without disturbing either of them. One wrong move, and it would spell both the most embarrassing and humiliating thing ever. The only way it could have been made worse was if Mom or Dad came in and saw this. Looking down towards the door, thankfully, karma had some form of mercy. However, a thought did come to mind. You tried to slowly pull yourself down towards the foot of the bed, hoping to move between Umbreon and Absol enough to get out. Then karma decided to throw a wrench in your plans. Absol yawned, but instead of waking up, her front claws grabbed on to your shoulders and pulled you into her!
