Unfathomable

Six days had passed, and you were filled with a lot of anxiety. There was the journey that you were now going on, your parents, the egg, your own thoughts, and this feeling gnawing at the back of your neck that something wasn't right. You had a backpack with you that had everything you needed, and Sonya seemed ready to go. Despite the preparation, it still felt chilling that this was actually happening. You know, without running away or trying to do something else.... Things wouldn't be stressing you out so much if you could get your mind off the egg. Normally, it should have hatched somewhere between two or three days, but this one was taking a full six days going on right now. What was going on? Did it just take longer for an egg to hatch if it wasn't two Pokémon? Either way, it wasn't settling right with you. Mom has tried to help ease it a little bit, but you've been too nervous to approach your dad about it. He didn't look intimidating, but he definitely had that feeling about him that made him scary.

You took that band with you, even though you didn't know what it was. Your parents handed you a note that came with it and decided to read it later. Even though it didn't work, you might as well try to at least figure out what it is. You planned on taking everyone with you. Sonya, Umbreon, everyone. It was going to be a bit difficult trying to tell the two Eevee's apart aside from size. That was really the only hint that you could tell them apart. You were going to miss being at home, sure, but it was going to be a nice breath of fresh air. The smith was going to be one thing you were going to miss. That was one thing that took your mind off a lot of things, but this time, you'd have to focus on others things. While you were kneeling down and going through the rest of your stuff, making sure you did in fact have everything you needed, you felt Sonya come from behind and licked your neck, catching you off guard and making you flinch. This wasn't a normal flinch, you pretty much spazzed to the point to where you went from the ground to jumping up and laying on the bed. You shuddered a little bit, then raised your head up to see Sonya grinning at you.

"Someone's a little jumpy." You rubbed your neck, then started to sit up.

"You caught me off guard! What else am I supposed to do?" Sonya laughed a little bit as she came up to the bed and put her forelegs on the bed, making her eye-level with you.

"I don't know, you tell me." The way she was grinning at you was making the hair on the back of your neck stand up straight. You chuckled nervously, and a little bit scared at what she could be thinking of before getting off the bed and kneeling back down, putting your hand into your backpack to make sure you had everything you'd need.

"I uh... is there a way I don't answer the question?" There were a couple seconds of silence until Sonya started to chuckle.

"There is, but you'll have to look at me for it to work." A bit confused and curious at the same time, you raised your head and turned it around, only to be met with a kiss right on the lips. You tensed up, and almost even jumped back, but Sonya expected this, going as far as pushing on your shoulders, forcing your back to hit the bed. At first, it caught you off guard entirely, but then your body started to melt. You wrapped your arms around Sonya's neck, feeling her fur before she pulled back, grinning at you.

"Oh come on (Y/n), don't tease me like this. Just open your mouth a little~." You felt your face get red, then got a distinct impression that you were being watched. Turning your head to the left, you saw your mother standing there. Seeing her only made your face radiate with more heat. Your mother stared at you for a couple seconds a little awkwardly, then cleared her throat, getting Sonya's attention.

"S-So... this is it... huh?" You tried to get a smile on your face, but it was a little hard with how Sonya was still pinning you to the bed.

"Y-yeah... I guess it is.... Though... it's still early in the morning... so we don't have to leave right now."
