Chapter One

Keira Ross laid spread out across her couch, her finger lazily changing the channel. 

She wasn't going to lie after the fall of S. H. I. E. L. D. life had definitely gotten a little boring. 

The only thing she really had planned this week was a visit with her mother and little sister at the end of the week. 

Her ringtone shrilling echoed over the TV, causing Keira to move slightly from her spot to where her phone lay on the coffee table in front of her. 

"Hello?" 

"Keira?"

"Yes, this is she," Keira replied sitting up. "What do you want, Tony? Shouldn't you be out saving the world?"

"Well, that's exactly what I wanted to discuss." Tony chimed back to his girlfriend. "We've saved the world and now we want to celebrate. I'll see you at the party on Saturday? It's about time you meet everybody." 

"Well, you haven't saved the entire world quite yet, last time I checked global warming was still an issue. But yeah, I may show up."

"Ah, awesome."

"But hang on, will Tequila be there?" Keira asked, having quite quickly picked up on Tony's nickname for his co-worker.

"Of course. Even though she really didn't do much searching for the scepter, she more just showed up last minute."

"Then, no I can't come."

"Why not?"

"My cover will be blown," Keira replied. "Aquila knows me as Kayla, not Keira."

"I'm sure Tequila can look after herself, she turns into a giant eagle for crying out loud."

"Fine, I'll be there," Keira said, rolling her eyes at her boyfriend's endless antics. 

Keira slowly made her way through the crowded room, conversing with the few people she did know while walking past the ones she didn't know, not exactly wanting to get into a conversation with people. Of course, Tony was nowhere to be found anyway. 

She scanned the room searching for any more familiar faces before suddenly crashing into the last person she wanted to see. 

"Kayla?"

Keira's eyes scanned the room almost searching for an escape route before turning back to the eagle in front of her. 

"Actually, my name is Keira Ross. Fury sent me undercover so I could check in on you." Keira said, trying to keep her tone light. 

"Did he really? I'm so going to strangle him the next time I see him. I can look after myself."

The two girls shared a laugh, before continuing their conversation. 

"Well, despite it being a weird situation, I'm glad I got to meet you properly," Keira said. 

"Yeah, definitely." Aquila agreed before pulling Keira into a hug. 

But it didn't take long for a voice to shout from across the room, startling both of the girls.

"Hands off, Cadman. Go find yourself, your own girlfriend, Keira is mine." 

Keira turned around, rolling her eyes as she saw Tony striding over towards them.

"Ah, so you are the famous Keira, Tony has told us so much about." Steve Rogers said, suddenly appearing out of nowhere. 

"That I am," Keira replied. "Although I don't recall Tony ever mentioning you lot."

Steve gave her a funny look so Keira quickly followed up her previous statement. "I'm kidding, of course."
