Chapter Fifteen

Keira and Bruce had eventually made it back to the Avengers compound only to meet Rhodey, a little banged up but still moving forward. 

With Tony, Peter and Dr. Strange declared missing, everything seemed to be going to shit, a discussion with Secretary Ross was the last thing Keira needed right now. 

"Still no word from Vision?" 

"Satellites lost him somewhere over Edinburgh," Keira informed the Secretary. 

"On a stolen Quinjet with five of the world's most wanted criminals." Secretary Ross finished for her. 

"You know they're only criminals because you've chosen to call them that, right, sir?" Rhodey interjected. 

"My god, Rhodes, your talent for horseshit rivals my own."

"If it weren't for those Accords, Vision would've been right here," Rhodey argued. 

"I remember both of your signatures on those papers." The Secretary replied, looking to both of them. 

"That's right," Rhodey replied. "And I'm pretty sure I've paid for that." 

"You have second thoughts?"

"Not anymore." 

A noise to her left caused Keira to look up, a smile breaking across her face as she saw some people that she hadn't seen in way too long. 

"Mr. Secretary." Steve Rogers greeted. 

"You've got some nerve. I'll give you that."

"You could use some of that right now," Natasha interjected. 

"The worlds on fire. And you think, all is forgiven?"

"I'm not looking for forgiveness. And I'm way past asking for permission. Earth just lost her best defender. So we're here to fight." Steve replied, stepping forward to look straight into Secretary Ross' eyes. "And if you wanna stand in our way. . we'll fight you, too."

"Rhodes, Stark, arrest them!" Secretary Ross demanded at the two of them. 

"All over it," Keira responded sarcastically, quickly swiping off the hologram as Aquila shot her middle finger at the disappearing man.

"Stark?" Steve asked, his questioning gaze falling onto Keira. 

"Soon to be," Keira replied with a small smile. "You guys missed out on a lot. But it's really good to see you all."

Keira opened her arms wide as Aquila stepped forward pulling her into a tight hug. 

"You too, Keira."

Keira's eyes whipped across the room before landing on Quinn who was standing back supporting Vision. 

"Look at you!" Keira exclaimed suprised. "Not a touch of boring Tour Guide left in you is there?"

Keira hadn't been very surprised when the news reached her that Quinn Greene had completely disappeared all of a sudden but she knew that Quinn would be with the others, she just hadn't been expecting her to have changed so much.

Quinn rolled her eyes at Keira's comment, before pulling her tighter. "God, I missed you so much."

"Wow, you guys really look like crap. Must've been a rough couple of years." Rhodey said, receiving his own hug from Aquila and the rest of the team. 

"Yeah, well, the hotels weren't exactly five stars," Sam replied from where he was supporting Vision.  "Besides I also had to deal with these four on their individual honeymoons." He added gesturing towards Aquila, Natasha, Steve, and Quinn.
