(Hey guys. I haven't uploaded in forever. Sorry. I found this lying around on my laptop and decided to see what you all though of it. It is kind of old and may not be the best. Enjoy!)

Camp

A cat rushed through the forest. This wasn’t right. How come everything was bigger? How come she saw her paws instead of feet? What was going on? She couldn’t figure out where she was or what happened.

Lennae woke up in a bed. She sat up and looked around at her surroundings. She was in a cabin with bunk beds and suitcases. She was obviously at a camp, but how come she didn’t remember coming here?

A girl came into the cabin. “You woke up. You ok? We found you in the middle of the forest, passed out,” the girl said. “Oh, by the way, I am Rebecca.”

“I am Lennae. I was in the forest? I thought that was a dream. I can’t believe it,” she said. ‘How could that not have been a dream?’ Lennae wondered.

“That wasn’t a dream. You were, for some unknown reason, roaming around in the middle of the night in the middle of the woods,” Rebecca said. She threw Lennae a t-shirt. “You are at Camp Animal Lovers.”

Lennae barely noticed when Rebecca left. How in the world was there a camp she didn’t know about? Her parents had sent her to a ton of camps and she knew of the others she hadn’t been to. She guessed this summer would be kind of strange. She put on the shirt then headed outside to see who else was here.

She got a lot of “Hi’s” from people. They all seemed to know something. They were all friendly and looked like they liked camp. Lennae hoped she would fit in here. She never had. Something strange always happened, and it made people avoid her.

Wait, what did she just see? It looked like that boy had just disappeared and a dog had taken his place. She shook her head. She must be seeing things, because that is impossible. She must have slept really hard last night.

She decided she needed to head back to the cabin and get some sleep. When she got there she found a present and a card on her bed. The card said:

“Welcome to Camp Animal Lovers.

We hope you enjoy it and make many friends.

The cabin you are in is purple.

When we have our weekly competitions you will be on the purple team.

This experience might change your life.

Have a great time, Lennae.

From,

Your new friends at Camp Animal Lovers”

She smiled as she read it. She turned towards the gift. It was wrapped in a bright purple wrapping paper with the word ‘Welcome’ all over it. She tore it open. Inside was a bracelet. There was a picture of different charms on a paper in the box it came in. She wondered why she hadn’t gotten a charm. She shrugged; she figured you had to earn them.

She put on her new bracelet and put the rest of her stuff under her bed. ‘No matter how strange this camp might be, it should be fun,’ thought Lennae. She lay down on her bed. Sleep quickly overcame her.
