SIDE STORY: STRAIGHTENING HIS PATH CHAPTER 2

After putting everything back to where it should be, he wanted to go straight to his room and take a rest. As he walks on the hallway, XuanYu heard the voice of Jin GuangYao behind the door of his room. His face brightened and was about to knock but another voice was heard and their conversation seems serious.

"Brother is back! But who could be the person that he's talking to right now?" he murmured. He doesn't have the intention of eavesdropping to their conversation but a word caught his attention so he decided to listen a bit more.

"So, all I need is to dispose them right?" a man's voice said.

"Yes, make sure that no evidence should remained" Jin Guangyao voice is serious and threatening that made XuanYu a bit scared of him. He was about to leave because there's a part of him that's telling him that what he's doing right now is wrong. He took a step but it halted and he was frozen on the spot, like a cold wind blew into his body and made him shiver, like there are rose vines that was tangled on his whole body that made him unable to move and stung him. Tears slowly falls from his eyes to his cheeks, he can't speak, he can't make any sound like he suddenly become mute.

His feet moved on it's own, sprinting like there's no tomorrow. Tears blind him and he turn, running as quickly as his long legs can carry him, bolting down the alley way, quickening his pace to an all out sprint. The pounding noise of steps resonating off the walls of the alley with a clanging echo that matched his heart throbbing inside his chest with the thick grief and fear he felt as he ran. He didn't know where he was now nor did he know where he was heading. He had no idea what time it was and he had no clue what day it is already. The sun sets and the sun rise for a few times now, but he doesn't care, all he knew was he had to keep running forward. Not stopping for anything, all he knew is that he had to leave and get away as far as he can from the place once his shelter and the one he's running from is the one he once considered as his precious family.

His legs become sore, it hurts, it feels like it'll break soon. He stopped and sat on the ground of nowhere, trees, rocks, animal sounds, a full moon and the surrounding is dark. Water still flows from his eyes, is he crying again? No, he's still crying, because he never stopped since the day he ran away. The truth is, it was more than crying, it was the kind of desolate sobbing that comes from a person drained of all hope. He sank to his knees at the grass, not caring for the damp mud that dirtied his gorgeous and expensive clothing. His tears mingled with the rain and his gasping wails echoed around the forest. The pain that flowed from him was as palpable was the frigid fall wind and there's no one at his side, looking up to the watery skies and heaven beyond. He had to believe that somewhere out there, someone cares.

His eyes starting to close, he's tired, he's body and mind. Days of running and not resting makes him so tired that he feels like he won't wake up again if he falls asleep. The last drop of his tears as his eyes shuts might be the last one. "This place might be dark, it might be scary and yet in this place so open to the skies, resting in the cricket's lullaby, I feel so safe." XuanYu smiled.

"Did you find him already? He's been missing for a week now!" Jin GuangYao said with worry as he scolded his subordinates.

"Sect leader, we looked for him at every corner of the town and send some people outside but we couldn't find him, not even a strand of his hair nor a shadow." Hearing this, Jin GuangYao slammed the table and told everyone not to stop, not even a minute. If they need to look for him at every place in this world just to find him then they should!

"Honey, calm down. I'm sure XuanYu is safe" Qin Su held his hand and consoled him.

"I know, but.... When I thought of him being in danger, I don't know what to do and say to brother Zixuan" Jin GuangYao sighed.

Jin GuangYao has no idea what could be the reason of XuanYu's disappearance. Did someone abduct him? Did he go out and someone took him? Or could it be the family of his mother's side, who're behind all of this? After all, they're jealous about XuanYu's status.

He stood up and left in a flash, he's heading to the Mo Family residence to check if XuanYu's there and being mistreated.

"Da ge! Gege Thank you for coming with me."

"No problem, what is important is to find XuanYu" Lan Xichen said.

"Anyway, do you have any hint why did he suddenly disappeared?" Nie Mingjue asked, he glared at Jin GuangYao waiting for an answer, but Jin GuangYao himself is not sure what would be the reason why XuanYu suddenly disappeared.

Nie Mingjue is facing straight ahead but at the same time his attention and focus never left Jin GuangYao. In someone's point of view, these three sworn brothers are too close and care for each other that they'll be there when one of them is in need of help. But what is the truth behind the stares of Nie Mingjue? Is it worry? Is it consciousness? Is it doubt? Or maybe it's something that he himself cannot describe? That even he ask a hundred of people, spend a month of seclusion, or even though he tries to understand others emotion, he still won't be able to clarify the unknown thoughts and emotion that reside in him? Or maybe he's just denying and avoiding it?

Jin GuangYao noticed the stares coming from him, something flashed beneath the surface of Nie Mingjue's hardened expression and he hurried to investigate the sudden shift. It was too late, the emotion disappeared before he could identify it. His heart beats like a drum, he gripped his sword tightly and clutched his clothes on his chest trying to stop the uncontrollable beats of his heart. Not here, Not now, not them.... Jin GuanYao only has these thoughts right now. These two people especially Lan xichen are the last ones that he never wanted to discover his secrets. He can't imagine what will happen if they find out, he don't know how to explain it to them, will they even believe him? Can they understand him? his feelings? his reasons? Can they forgive him if they discover everything? These thoughts makes Jin GuangYao felt terrified. Afraid of losing everything, everything that he worked hard for, afraid of losing everyone who he's starting to care for. He knew himself that if his crimes and secrets will be out on broad daylight, he'll lose all of it.

"A-Yao! A-Yao! Are you okay?" Lan Xichen called out to him multiple times.

Jin GaungYao was startled, his heart almost leaped out from his chest, he hurriedly answered but it was too sudden that he stuttered. "Ye—Yes Gege?? I'm fi-Fin—ne"

"Are you sure? You look unwell" Nie Mingjue said, his voice is unyielding and made Jin GuangYao think that maybe he's starting to doubt him but Nie Mingjue always talks like that yet the pressure makes him think that way.

They're almost at the Mo Village, but then a silhouette appeared in front of them. They were surprised by the sudden appearance and unsheathed their swords and pointed toward that person. With a second look, their eyes widened after seeing the face of the one who appeared right in front of them. The one they're looking for suddenly appeared, they were happy but XuanYu is not.

After seeing the three zuns, XuanYu almost fell on the ground but he had to be stronger than his fear right now. He ran as fast as he could, but with Lan Xichen and Nie Mingjue around, there's no way he could escape. When his mind has ceased it's unproductive buzz, he able to start thinking his way out of this mess. And the only escape he could think of right now, there's only way he could take right now. When the trees lessen and the sunlight gets brighter, XuanYu jumped.

A/N: Finally! (ಥ﹏ಥ) I was able to finish it tonight/today (cuz it's 1am already) I wrote it in advance because starting tomorrow will be our exam that will last until next week so i might won't be able to update. ༼ つ ಥ_ಥ ༽つ
