When we're back to the hotel room we decide to decide who sleeps where.

John takes the couch bed in the living room, claiming he'll stay up the latest so he doesn't want to bother whoever he would be sharing with. Mike then claims that he wants to share with me, pulling me into his chest in the process. I don't mind it and lean further into him.

The girls are fine with it and John doesn't really protest, so we decide on these pairs. Emely and Day claim the room closest to the bathroom with the excuse that they're girls and will use it more often. I doubt it but grab my bag and take it to the other room, Mike following close after.

That's how I ended up in a bed with Mike. He fell asleep about an hour ago I think, in just sweatpants on top of the sheets, and I can't fall asleep even if I want to. I wonder how my mother is doing. She knew I was leaving, I told her two weeks ago, but I'm still worried. I've never left her for this long.

Especially because I cooked most nights and I made sure she had enough to drink and made sure she put an alarm to get up on time for her work in the bezine station. And because I made sure she eat breakfast each morning to prevent her from fainting like that time two years ago. I sigh.

Then I turn around , facing Mike. He always knows how to calm me down. He's done that countless of times, because I overthink a lot and I've known him since we were five. He's the only one I ever talked to, others thought I was weird because I am 'basically a girl' or 'too masculine'.

Mike also turns towards me, and to my surprise he puts his arms around me. "Stop turning and tossing around A. You'll mess up your pretty hair. And I can't sleep if you keep doing that."

I stiffen in his grip. He doesn't seem to want to let go anytime soon. "Relax Alex. She'll be fine." He mumbles, his face in my neck. I feel the redness creeping onto my cheeks. Dammit.

"I know. Still worried, just like when you ran away." I answer, just as quiet. His fingers brush my arm, feeling how they're still tense.

He chuckles. "You shouldn't always be worried about everyone. Your mother is a grown woman. She's fine. She hasn't fainted or gotten sick in years Alex. You put reminders for everything. You can't keep living there your whole life."

I don't answer. Instead I try and relax. At least for how far possible with a good looking guy hugging me while he's half naked. And I'm in my pj's.

He moves around a little. "Goodnight A."

"'Night M."

I close my eyes, and finally I'm able to sleep. If I dreamt about Mike, nobody has to know.

"Wake up guys! In an hour we're leaving for brunch and it's your own problem if you aren't dressed yet." John's voice sounds loudly trough the hotel room. Rushed rustling sounds from the other side of the wall.

I feel something moving underneath me. It pushed me off.

"Oof." I sit up, looking onto the bed

"Shit. Sorry Alex." Mike's head appears from somewhere between the sheets. "We fell asleep like that huh? You'd almost believe we were a couple." He laughs, and I chuckle a little awkwardly.

"Yeah, almost." I mumble, getting up from the floor to pick some clothes from my suitcase, since I didn't bother yet with unpacking. I grab simple black skinny jeans which don't stain as fast, which is a nessicairy thing when it's me, and a neon blue hoodie to match my hair.
