I turn on the tv and go to the rewatch section. I want to check up what we're up against, and the best way to do that for now is watching the first episode of Starway. We watched it with the entire group the first evening, but a lot of people were talking then, and I couldn't concentrate.
I click on Starway and start watching. It begins with the woman who filmed the short intro for us in round two. "Hello everyone and good that you're watching the first episode of the first season of Starway: Battle between Bands! Today we have 50 auditioning bands here who are all very nervous to perform for the judges, 5 Seconds of Summer, Little Mix, the Jonas Brothers and Liam Payne! Since we took the whole day of recording it obviously couldn't fit into one episode, but today we're going to take a look at twelve bands. Let's go look at our first performance!"
A spring cut to the stage and four tables in four colours, with judges in front of it. Pink for Little Mix, blue for Liam, red for 5sos and green for the Jonas Brothers.
A band is on stage. "Hello, who are you?" a Little Mix asks them
"We're Rednight." the front man moves a little as he answers.
"Nice name. What are you going to play for us?" a different Little Mix member asks, I think this is Perrie.
"We're going to be playing Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Greenday."
"Sounds good. We're ready when you are." The same member, Perrie, says, looking at the rest of her band and the others.
It's quiet for a moment, but then the frontman starts by yelling the count into the mic. I remember this band. They got voted out, if I remember correctly.
I skip a few minutes, and I'm right. They're out. Kathy comes onto the screen again. "As we wait for the stage to get ready for the next band, we're going to ask them a few questions.
Up first, who are you?"
"We're Five Times Vocals."
I skip again to their performance. I only need to know how they play if they're in. "We're going to play Shades On by The Vamps."
Ashton from 5sos, who I assume was talking the entire time, nods.
The band starts playing, and they're pretty good. Just a different genre, and a lot more singers. The only one who isn't singing is the drummer, and they have five members.
They're into the next round, like I expected. I keep going like that, just watching who they are and their performance.
After I've watched the entire episode I sigh. There's not much to do anymore. I practiced for more than an hour already today and I can practically dream the melody I have to play, but my final check with Zayn is in three hours. I decide to just go walk around the house. I haven't actually looked at a lot of stuff.
I walk to the big hallway from where you can go basically everywhere. The stairs to the wing of Liam and the others, our wing, the wings of the other bands. You can go to the lounge and the slightly smaller hallway with the rooms to practice. You can go to the dining room and from there to the kitchen. That's what I decide to do. I haven't looked around there at all.
I walk to the dining room, and at the table are just the sisters sitting, with a laptop of which I don't know where they got it, and they're looking at the screen and talking. I decide to just ignore them and walk to the kitchen. It's completely empty, which gives me the time to walk around in peace.
