Today Andy doesn't have a show, so the boys are staying in a hotel near to the next venue.

Currently, they are in town, looking for a place to eat. It's quite late in the evening, and they've been wondering around all day, talking and joking around.

They eventually settle on an Italian restaurant just off the main street. It's nice inside, and they sit down opposite each other.

"What are we, Andy?" Remington asks once they have ordered. He has been thinking about it a lot, and it's been bothering him.

Andy sighs, confused. "Hmm?" He questions, not fully understanding what the man means.

"It's just-we kiss and we have sex and stuff, and we sleep in the same bed, but what are we? Friends? Friends with benefits?"

"Oh," he says. "I don't know, Remington. Do you want to be something more than just two men who fuck?" The way Andy says it makes it sounds like there is nothing more to it than just two men who have sex. Is that all there is to it? Is that all Andy thinks of Remington? Did he invite him on tour just so he would have someone to fuck?

"Is that all it is to you?" The younger man asks. "Just two men who fuck? Are there no feelings attached? do you feel nothing? Could I be any other man, and it would be the same?" Poor Remington starts getting quite upset. Perhaps he's been too hopeful. "Am I nothing more to you than a man to fuck?" He feels the tears come to his eyes, and blinks them back.

Andy doesn't know how to reply. Why is Remington so worked up about this? Why is it making him upset?

Then, it hits him, and it's obvious. How could he be so stupid? How could he say that?

Andy takes too long to respond, and the poor brown-eyed man sighs, stands up and swiftly walks out of the restaurant, Andy calling after him.

Remington gets back to the hotel and unlocks the door to their room, locking it behind him and collapsing onto the bed. He can't help but to cry. It's like all those years of pain have all caught up to him.

Is he over thinking? Has he become too attached to the man? Has he annoyed the man?

What has he done wrong?

In the restaurant, Andy cancels their order, leaves a rather large tip, and then dashes out. He makes it to the hotel, and when he gets to their room, stands outside the door. He can hear the man inside sobbing, and his heart breaks.

He should have known that what he said would have upset Remington. Of course it did. The poor boy was taken advantage of and abused for years, of course those words would hurt him.

Just a man to fuck.

God, he's really fucked this up.

Remington is so much more to Andy than a man to fuck. Remington means so much to the man. Why did he say that? What was going through his head for him to say that?

He gets out his key, and unlocks the door, opening it slowly. Inside, he sees Remington, face down on the bed, his body shaking with his sobs.

Andy kicks his shoes off, and then sits down on the edge of the bed.

The spiky-haired boy hears the other man come in, but isn't able to stop his sobs. He doesn't know why he is crying so much. It shouldn't have hurt him this much. Why is he crying so much?

He feels the bed sink as Andy sits down, but still doesn't lift his head up.

The older man places a gentle hand on his back, rubbing circles into it soothingly. "Rem, I am so sorry. I really really wish I hadn't said that. It was so horrible of me." His voice is careful and quiet.

Remington does find comfort in the man's simple gesture. He inhales shakily, lifting his head. "It's okay," he whispers, sniffling.

Andy is relieved that the younger man is talking to him. "Come here," he suggests, smiling softly when the boy moves, crawling over to him. Remington hugs the man. "I'm sorry," Andy repeats, feeling guilty.

The men hug for a while, and Remington calms down. He feels silly for crying, and he's glad Andy is being so gentle and understanding.

"Can we just get room service?" Remington asks, still in the man's embrace.

Andy nods. "Good idea," he replies,

The men order some food, and switch on the television. The food arrives, and they eat it while watching T. V.

It gets late, and they crawl under the covers. "Good night, Rem," Andy whispers, placing a kiss on the man's cheek. Remington curls into his chest, feeling quite vulnerable at the moment. He's just sensetive, and the events of tonight ended up bringing some old memories to the surface. Andy holds him to his chest, knowing the boy is feeling vulnerable.

It is in this moment, with the boy encased in his arms, that he knows he's never going to stop protecting him.

Because he loves him.
