Chapter 1 - Extreme

LEDEA'S POV
After getting ready for school, I start walking. I meet up with Kerri at the front gate. 

"Wassup my chicka" she says giving me a hug.

 "Sup Ri ,let's get going" I say as we walk to English.

"Well, well, well isn't it Ms always-on-her-period" Sarah Jennings aka bitch/drama queen smiles.

 "What do you want?"  

"To know why they allowed snakes inside school" she laughs. 

"Yeah I wonder why your allowed in school as well" I chuckle.

"Shut up fat ass" she grins. 

"At least my ass is real" I grin back. 

Sarah nudges me.

 I turn my hands to fists.

 "Ledea leave it" Ri tell me. I do so and continue walking to English. School goes by as a blur.

After I walk home from school as usual. 

"Ledea is a shit name" none other than Sarah says.

 "Bitch you know who your palagi ass picking a fight with?" I turn towards he and her friends. 

"Yeah an ugly, fat ass ho" she says.

My hands turn into fists.

 Ledea don't. 

"leave me alone" I turn back and walk. 

"You walking back to your poor ass family and overweight mum." She laughs. That's it, ain't nobody messing with my family.

I loose my temper and slam her head against the wall. She is down and I kick her, everywhere. I elbow her in the gut then kick her in the ribs. She's out. I sling my bag over my shoulder and walk off.

I walk inside and it is quiet. Mum, dad and Mateu ( my older brother ) are just sitting there in the lounge. They are staring and the TV which is off then all eyes are on me.

"Sup dad, hey mum" I jump onto the couch. 

"Don't hey me young lady" mum yells. 

"Mum? Dad? Teu?" I ask, none of them bothering to even look at me. 

"You got into a fight again sis" Teu finally speaks up.

"Yeah so." I say.

 " Ledea she now has brain damage" dad tells me,

 "good she deserves it" I smile. 

"Ledea, because of this we are sending you to live in Tonga with your Aunty Mele and Uncle Tevita" Mum says as tears leave her eyes.

"Why?" I ask. 

"Because your fighting to often now, we can't control your temper anymore" Dad explains. 

"But she was making fun of you guys, what was I supposed to say? Oh thank you for calling my family poor?" I shout.

"Sis, relax. We've sorted everything out, your leaving on Saturday"'Teu says calming me down. 

"But my life is here! Here! In America. All my friends are here and you guys are here" I try to persuade them.

"But your troubles are here too. In Tonga they will discipline you" Teu says. 

"Wow when did my own brother and parents start siding against me? You got your wish, I'm leaving" I run to my room and slam the door shut.

I hear Teu talking behind the door. 

"Leave me alone Teu! It's practise for when I actually leave" I shout. 

"Ledea it's for your own good" I hear him say. 

"For mines? Or for you guys?" I shout again.

"Lee it ain't like that" He says. 

"Just piss off" I say before heading to pack. I play music and turn it up full blast.

Every women has a breaking point

I know you know, some women can be lied to

And cheated and beated on

After I finish packing all my clothes & shoes into my 2 suitcases. I pack other things like beanies/hats and the girl essentials in my Londsdale bag and Stussy one strap bag. I get the money I store under my bed which is about $650.

I drift into a dreamless sleep. 

Thinking about leaving my birth place.

I've only ever left to New Zealand.

Am I actually leaving everyone behind?
