Chapter 18 - Teu strikes Tonga

TEU'S POV
I booked the next flight from America to Tonga after I told mum and dad. Why did Mere do this to here self anyways?I got my flight later on tonight and right now I'm just finishing off packing.

I was going to ring Mere and tell her about Dad having cancer but that's not what we need to worry about now. I just can't believe she would do something as stupid as this.

*************************************************************************Arriving in Tonga, I feel the cool air bounce across my skin. I've missed this place. Haven't retuned since I was 14. As I walk out I spot Saia. And man has puberty done him some good.

"Hey bro" he greets holing out his hand. "Sup doxx" I say pulling him into a hug. I take my suitcase and we drive to the hospital. "So, care to explain why Mere committed suicide?" I ask. He explains why.

"So, this Lafaele guy just kissed her right infront of her. And that Wesley dude had the guts to show up at the hospital? They better watch out when I meet them" I threat.

Arriving inside Mere's room, I see how she's changed. He hair has turned a lighter brown and she's gotten sunburnt a bit. Hahaha. I'm introduced to one of Mere's best friends and Saia's Girlfriend Lose. I hug my cousin Sita, who I haven't seen since she was 9. And wow she looks good.

Mere looks pale. She better wake up or those 2 will be finished. I sit bye Aunty Mele. "Malo e lava (thanks for coming)" she smiles. "It's all goods Aunty" I smile back.

"Na'ke fanongo ke hiva a Meretiana (have you heard Meretiana sing?) ?" She grins. I nod my head, no. She gestures to Sita and she pulls out her phone and plays a video or a girl singing Fly.

Watching closer I notice it's Mere & my jaw is dropped. Man, Tonga changed the Queen of Fighting. She's a gun as singer/rapper and why didn't I know this before? The song finishes and I still can't believe that was Mere.

She looks more quiet and not as ghetto anymore. I observe the cuts on her wrist. Far Mere you idiot! We didn't send you to Tonga to commit suicide, we sent you to Tonga to get disciplined.

I check my time and it's 11:06. "Aunty, you should get some rest, I'm going to drive you and the girls home" I state. Aunty & Lose get up but Sita, being the stubborn idiot she is, acts childish and stays still.

"Sita, it wasn't a question" I tell her. "Nup" she refuses popping the 'p'. I walk over to her and sling her over my shoulder. "Teu you fag, put me down, put me down" she demands.

"I'll come after they're asleep" I give a reverse nod to Saia. I take all 3 girls to the van, including the child over my shoulder. Aunty gets in the front seat while the other two are in the back seat.

"Never do that again mister" she warns. "Nah I'm ok with doing it again. Just like when we were younger" I laugh as I turn on the engine and drive off. I missed Tonga.

"So,those guys. What school?"I ask as I notice Aunty is asleep and we get down to "no oldies allowed" business."Lafaele Manu, Head Boy of Liahona and captain of our Rugby team and Wesley Taunga, Captain of the Toloa rugby team" Sita explains.

Taunga...... Taunga....... Why does that name sound so familiar. "And they were treating my sister like some toy?" I say parking into Aunty's driveway aka grass in front of the house. "They started fights over her and it was getting pretty annoying for her and everyone" Lose replies.

"Bye cuz, we gonna take Aunty inside" Sita smiles, lightly waking up Aunty as all 3 of them disappear into the house. I drive back to the hospital and enter Meres room to find Saia sitting on one of the chairs.

"Those guys are pretty fucked up" I let out breaking our silence. "I know aye, they don't know how to treat a girl right" He agrees. "Far that girl Lose, she's yours aye" I laugh.

"Yeah. She belongs to all this" show off. "What about you cuz? You got a girl yet?" He asks. "Nah, don't have time for girls with family" I answer and a disappointed look forms on his face.

What? Was he expecting I say yes or something. I mean at the age of 21, my life was already booked. I got my 18 year old little sister always getting into trouble and now Dad has cancer. I also got church and my mates and rugby. I've barely had time to even think about girls.

"Did you hear she smashed 5 Atele guys?" He asks. "Atele? 5? My little sister? Oof" I say wowed. "Yeah, um... She just hard out smashed them to the ground and that" He exaggerates, well I think he does.

He falls asleep and I do aswell. Do you people know how uncomfortable these chair are? I'm gonna complain and say they should get more better chairs.

I don't think I can update that often since my cousin passed away over the weekend. Luke Tipene. He was a gun as rugby player.
