Chapter 22 - Inner Girl

AROHA'S POV a few weeks later
The girls have been teaching me the dance which is near impossible for me to perform. But I think I can wing it or something. Yesterday they made me spend hours practising my hand movements. It had to be soft and graceful.

But ask anyone if I'm soft and graceful and they'll just laugh in your face. I'm serious, I'm known for being wild, strong and careless. My performance is tomorrow and I swear this dance will be the death of me.

"Aye your getting softer cuz" Sita laughs. "Shudup" I growl while still performing my actions. "You do know you gonna get money for this" Lose grins. "I know but aunty said I gotta donate it to the church" I reply. "That's only the money they find" Sita grins as well.

Isn't that stealing? Of course it's not, the money is on your body. Far this could be a job for me. Lose starts the music and sits beside Sita. I do my first move tilting my head to he left while completing my actions. After the sing I sit down.

"Look! Your killing my fingers" I wave my dead fingers around, well they felt dead. "Oh you can handle it" Lose replies. geeze, she's like my mum when Teu has an injured ankle or something.

Aunty walks in with a large bag filled with tapa. She takes out some of the pieces and places it on the floor. The main piece is large and like a rectangle. It has shells, patterns and feathers to decorate it. There is brackets, anklets and a necklace with a single shell on some black/blue fabric.

"Whats this" I ask. "It's your costume" Sita asks. All 3 of them admire the costume like it was made from gold something. I just act like it isn't that important. I hear the door open and close followed by Teu & Saia.

Guess there back from the beach. I know aye? They left me with these girlies while they all played in the water. And it's freaking hot!? "Glad to see someone enjoying her self" Teu teases as I give him the finger (and thumb).

Lose instantly pulls it down and reminds me that Aunty is just metres away. " You gonna show us your performance or we gonna wait til tomorrow?" Saia asks taking a seat on the couch.

"Tomorrow coz I ain't ready to show your ugly faces" I laugh. They both act all dramatic and put there hands on there hearts. Yep, you can tell their cousins. After. Aunty puts it away on a safe place coz she's worried I'm going to break it.

Sita & Lose stay for dinner which is good. After, we all watch a movies, meaning Sita, Teu, Lose, Saia and Me. Sita picks Paranormal activity as I make a few bowls of popcorn. As I bring the popcorn to everyone I find an awkward Sita, bore Teu and a kissing Lose & Saia.

"Get a room" I yell while throwing a bit of popcorn on their faces. Sita & Teu shoot laughing. I laugh a bit before giving the bowls of popcorn to everyone. I take a seat on the free sofa and adjust the chair. After the movie Sits picks another ne.

Stuffing my face with popcorn, it's only been 5 minutes into the movie. The Lion King. Why did Sita pick this movie anyways? I hear that song stuck in my head.

I love this movie. N how Simba was tough for a cub. The movie was a crack up with all the songs. My favourite song was Hukana Matata n my fave character is Pumba. This is one of my best movies.

Throughout the movie, I laugh and cry. I know, who cries during Lion King? Me. The movie finishes and Teu drives Lose & Sita home, leaving me & Saia. "Is Teu really ok with you & Lafaele?" He sighs while bending over to pick up some popcorn. I do the same.

"I don't know. He hasn't told me" I reply. "Just be careful ok, we don't want you getting hurt. Physically or emotionally" He says. "Saia. If get hurt, that's on my own fault. Not anyone elses" I reassure him.

"Ok cuz, night" and with that, he leaves for his room. I turn of all the lights before doing the same. Teu is ok. Right? I mean he hasn't told me off, we'll he hasn't told me to stay away from him so, yeh.

I feel the rays of the sun, burn against my forehead. Great way to be woken up aye? I check the time on my phone and once again, I am struck by the brightness of my screen. I turn my brightness down the. Check the time. 9:02.

I rub my eyes before walking to the kitchen. The concert fundraiser thing doesn't start till 6 so I got 9 more hours. I see Teu & Saia passed out on the couch and Aunty making breakfast. Man guys can sleep. I walk to the kitchen to help out Aunty.

"Morning Aunty" I hug her from behind. "kud mornink Mere" she smiles. I look at the pancakes. They look normal except they smell like banana. "Aunty, what are you cooking?" I ask. "Banana bancakes" she answers. I let out a laugh cos of her freshness.

"Ko n wake ub da boiz" she orders me. I nod then make my way to the living room. I shake them both rapidly but none of them wake up. I decide to have a little fun with this. I search through my closet to find my makeup bag. I look inside and see everything is unopened. Well that's coz I never use it.

The bag is small and with a handle. I carry it into the living room and start off with Teu. I know how to use the makeup so I decide to make them beautiful. Hahaha. I lightly use the lipstick on Teu's lips and make them red. After I use her mascara on his eyelashes. I use the puffy powder thing all over his cheeks.

I let out a soft laugh. I then use the eye shadow and eye liner on him.
Mwahaha. I move on to Saia. I do the exact same on Saia as I did on Teu. I take a few, we'll maybe hundreds of photos of them both. I laugh as I take my makeup bag back.

I go back to Aunty and tell her they wanted to sleep for a bit longer. She sets up the table for me and her to eat. Mmmm Banana pancakes are yum as. Mid-way through our eating, I almost choke back the pancakes at my view.

Standing before us, is Teu & Saia. I crack up laughing as Aunty looks confused. "Son, you want to be a fakaleiti (fa'afa'finge)? " she asks. Saia now has a puzzled look on his face. Him and Teu turn to each other and have a face of laughter.

"Haha look at your face" Saia laughs. "Me? Look at your cuz" Teu laughs as well. About 2 seconds later they realise how stupid they look and I see Aunty try to hold in her laughter. "Mere!" They both yell making their way to the table.

I get out of my seat and run away. I run around the house then run outside. I run to the gate and find Lose & Sita. I hide behind them both. A few seconds later Teu & Saia come out. Lose & Sita crack up laughing as I crouch down trying to go unnoticed.

"Look at you two's face" Sita laughs at her dear cousins. "Shut up cuz, have you seen Mere" Teu growls. Eesh what a guy. "Nah, did she do this" Lose replies. The both angrily walk back inside. As they leave Sita & Lose crack up laughing even more.

"Nice one girl" Sita high fives me. I high five her back before walking inside. For protection, I have Sita on my left & Lose on my right. We walk in to find no-one. Aunty left a note saying she had to get some last minute things for my costume but I don't know where e boys are.

Sita & Lose, being to cool losers they are, act like ninja's forming their fingers into a gun. Sita slides her back against the kitchen wall hoping to find where the boys are.

As we walk pass the kitchen, I feel an elephant tackle me to the ground. Well two elephants. They are currently squishing me by sitting on top of me. "Get of me you fat" I groan gasping for air. They get off and turn to serious/ joking mode.

"This better come off" Saia points to his face. "Dw babe I think you look hot" Lose laughs. Saia goes and stands beside her. "Unlike dope head over there, I'm going to wash this off" Teu walks to the bathroom and washes it off. Saia does the same with the kitchen sink.

We all sit and watch movies until the fundraiser.
