We arrive at our church hall after a 5 minute walk and man is it big. Inside the hall, it is hot, considering everyone in here. There are a few matts laid on the ground for the kids to sit on and a wooden floor at the front for the performances. Sweat forms on my palms as I rub them together.

"Nervous aye?" Sita says. I nod. "I was the same with my first tau'olunga, but considering I was 4" she laughs. I punch her shoulder. "Is there any other way you can hurt me?" She rubs her arm. "Nah I'm good with the shoulder punch" I laugh.

We sit down and watch the other family's perform. My village is massive if I may add. Each dance performed by a girl, is similar to mine, soft & graceful. The girls are so oily that they could be seen from a mile away due to all the shininess.

Sita taps my shoulder. "Aye, your soon cuz. Let's get you ready" she pulls my arm. We walk home for my to get ready. They put the tapa thingy on me first, it goes up to my mid-thigh. Aunty puts my hair into a bun and puts on my headpiece while Sita & Lose put on my anklets. Aunty then showers me with oil.

My back feels stiff. "Dayuum girl, you suit the teunga tau'olunga (the dance attire)" Lose compliments. "Ok, we ko" Aunty tells us. We nod & walk. I rub my hands together so the oil doesn't try. This costume is just too, much. I don't even think I can sit in it.

"Next is Meretiana Kahlio" the man announces. I walk into the hall & like everyone else, all eyes are on my. I slightly bend my knees and rub my hands together. From a far, I can see my Saia & Teu smirking. "I hate you, ps give me money" I mouth. The song starts and I begin my dance.

Within the first verse, I am covered in more money than oil and Saia & Teu are doing with dancing thing behind me. My Aunty is yelling "chehooo" and stuff like that. All throughout to dance, I smile and Teki my head. What made me smile even more, was seeing Lafaele also came to watch me dance.

I watched as he placed a $50 note inside my tapa while smirking. My dance is finish and I free my self of the money. Poor money, their going to be orphans once they leave my body. The church claps as I walk off and get back to change.

After changing, we go back and watch the remainder of dances. I feel hands around my shoulder and look up to see Lafaele. "You know how hot you looked in your teunga Tau'olunga?" He smirks into my ear. I gently elbow him before hiding my face.

He removes my hands and places them on my thighs. "I can't see your beautiful face" he gives me a peck on the cheek since he knew Aunty was watching. This guy is something.

I'm just glad he's mine
