Chapter 2 - Goodbye America

Ledea's POV

I wake up and wash up in my bathroom. I change into my school clothes then. I braid my hair then decide to text Ri.

L-hey Ri

R- Sup girl

L- Needa talk meet me @ the park on Lowe st

R- k be there in 5

I get out of my room for the first time today.

 "Morning Ledea you want breakfast?" Mum says as if she didn't just tell me I've leaving across the world in a few days. 

"Nah I'll get something on the way" I say leaving out the front door.

I'm walking down the street when Teu stops in front of me. I try walking around him but he won't move. 

"Get the fuck out of my way" I yell trying to push him away. 

"Not until we talk sis" he says placing his two muscular arms on the sides of my shoulders.

"Why should we? There's nothing more to talk about" I say looking at the concrete floor. 

"Meretiana" he says. He's never said my middle name before. 

"Mere look, I know we were hard on you yesterday but give Tonga a shot, you may like it" He lifts my chin. 

"Teu... How can I just pack up and leave? My whole life is in America?" I ask.

"I know, I promise I'll come visit after your first year, okay?" Teu kisses my forehead before letting my walk again. I wave good bye and walk to the nearby bakery. I get a chicken sandwich and eat it on the way to the park.

I finish swallowing my last piece when I see Ri. I run and give her a big hug. 

"Uh... Lee you ok?" She asks. 

"Well no, mum and dad are sending me to Tonga" I tell her. 

"What?Why!?" She yells in my face. 

"Because apparently I gave Sarah brain damage" I reply

"But you can't even speak Tongan and plus that bitch deserved it" she says. 

"I know but apparently what I did was wrong, I'm going to miss you Ri" I hug her. 

"When you leaving?" She asks. "Saturday" I reply.

"But it's Thursday! We don't have much time left" she notices. 

"I now but I promise to call you when I can" I say.

 "Man Lee I can't believe your leaving! Your the toughest chick San Francisco has seen" she smiles. 

"Don't worry, I'll get you some gifts and see if you can come visit for a while. And if Sarah n her whores mess with you I'll be taking the next flight out of Tonga" I joke.

We walk to school. After we walk to Science without Sarah's minions confronting us. Good, they learnt their lesson. I don't care to explain my day but it was quiet.

I give a bye hug to Ri and then walk home. I go and help my mum with the cooking. 

"Your not angry anymore Mere?" She asks, oh so now everyone going by my middle name? 

" I am I'm just hungry" I say and grab some pancakes before leaving for my room.

I clear out my room leaving just my empty drawers & closets and some toiletries. I lay in bed tossing and turning attempting to sleep. I'm not mad at Teu anymore but I am still mad at mum and dad. I'm going to miss Ri the most.

I wake up and see that it's 3:07am. Oooh I slept that long? I go out for a midnight snack knowing mum & dad would be asleep. I walk to the kitchen and see Teu and his best mate Derek. There watching some horror movie.

"Mere?" Teu says lifting his phone from his face and shinning it in my direction. 

"Yeah I'm hungry" I say. 

"You've been sleeping for a while" he finally notices. I grab some microwave noodles and warm them up for 3 minutes.

I grab a seat on the spare sofa. 

"What you's watching?" I ask, 

"little man" Derek answers. I raise a brow at both of them. 

"What? It's funny" Teu finally answers after a good 3 minutes. I get up and take my noodles out. I add chicken salt and soya sauce. What? It's yum.

I take my seat and start eating. Teu's hand comes in contact with my fork. I quickly slap it. "Ouch" he squeals holding his hand. "Get yo ass up and make your own" I point with my fork. After I finish my noodles I put the bowl back then sit back down and watch the movie.

Damn Little Man got me bursting into laughter. Once it hit 4 I went back to bed. Man when I wake up it will be my last day in America. I go to bed.

*later dt morning"

I wake up to some pancakes and orange juice on my bedside table. & a note from mum & dad. It says :

I know you must hate us now but soon you will understand. We had to go out today but we'll be back tonight. Mateu and Derek are still here. Love you, Mum & Dad.

After reading the note I noticed a necklace with my middle name on it. "Meretiana" it says. The necklace is gold and is in fancy writing. I decide I shouldn't be mad at Mum & Dad since they are doing this for my best but I'm pissed to leave.

The day is spent with my family and Ri who decided to ditch school we made some last minute collages and finished off my packing. Mum & Dad spoilt me by buying my an IPad Mini, iPhone 6 and a Camera. Of where did all this money come from?

Friday night is calm. Teu has a few friends over drinking while Mum & Dad are phone calling my aunty. Ri insisted on sleeping over and I didn't argue. That night consisted of laughs and tears.

*Da Next Dai*

I wake up and put on some black jeans and a royal blue buttoned up shirt. I loose curl my hair and tie a bit to the back. I put on a Chanel beanie and my blue and black Nikes. I walk down with Ri who is wearing a knee-length black skirt and an orange flower shirt. My bags are already near the door.

I see mum drowning in tears. I go and give her a hug. 

"Mum, I don't want to see you cry" I whisper patting her back. I'm not much of a crier. I move from mum to dad. He pulls me into a hug. 

"Dad, I know you guys did this for my best and I understand" I hug him back. I give both my parents a kiss before helping Ri and Teu who are carrying my bags to the car.

We get into the car and Ri is already crying. 

"Stop crying, your going to ruin your makeup" I say rubbing her shoulder. 

"You know your more important to me than makeup" she sobs.

 "I'll make sure you come visit ok" I pull her into a hug.

We arrive to the airport. I check in then we all walk to Customs & the other thing what ever it's called. I go say bye to Teu first. 

"Are you crying big bro?" I ask.

 "Nahh I think something's in my eye" he answers. I give him a big hug. 

"Take care of Ri for me" I whisper. 

"Always" he whispers back. He kisses my forehead.

I walk towards Ri. 

"Girl what did I say about crying?" I ask. 

"Only do It when it's important" she cries. I give her another hug. 

"Stop, your ruining that beautiful face. When you get a bf tell me and I'm a beat his face if he hurt you" I joke. She smiles to me.

"Now you to take care of mum & dad for me. I'll call when I land and get a SIM card" I tell them. 

"And Sis, don't destroy the island" Teu jokes. I wave by and they do the same. I go through all those airport checks then wait at my gate. Hoii it's going to be a long 19hrs.
