Mercedes Catherine stared at her sister.

Marceline Anne bit her bottom lip. "Ouch."

"That's all you have to say?!"

"I don't know Artie. I don't know if he likes Tana or not."

"You should see them together. They vibe. I know they do."

"Vibing doesn't mean interest."

Mercedes Catherine sighed and threw herself next to Marceline Anne on the bed. "I don't know. I wish there was something I could do for her."

"She needs to be around people. Text her that she's coming over tomorrow."

"What are we going to do?" She texted her friend.

"We're going shopping."

"Shopping?! You?!"

"Yes." Marceline Anne gave her a look. "I do shop every once in a while."

"I know but-" Mercedes Catherine looked down at her phone. "She says that she just wants to stay in bed."

"Tell her to bring her ass or I'll tell her mother on her."

Mercedes Catherine's mouth rounded. "You wouldn't!"

Marceline Anne looked at her as if saying she couldn't believe her big sister forgot who she was.

"Oh yeah. It's you." Mercedes Catherine texted the threat.

Marceline Anne pinched her.

"Ow! Why'd you do that?!"

"That's for talking stuff about me."

"I wasn't!" Mercedes Catherine whined.

"Shut up." Marceline Anne reached for her own phone.

"Who are you texting?"

"Nosy!"

Mercedes Catherine pouted. "Please?"

"Ugh! I dislike you greatly! I'm texting Karen!"

"Are you inviting her shopping, too tomorrow?"

"Yes."

"Yes! Best friends day!"

"No."

"Yes! We'll hit the real stores and shop for name brands! You know I love thrift stores and customizing my own clothes but I love Versace and Prada!"

"Hell no!"

"Tana says she's in. I texted about the stores."

Marceline Anne pushed the phone out of her face. "No. We're going furniture shopping."

"For your house?" Mercedes Catherine was torn.

"Yes. I'm inviting Mother, too."

"I thought retail therapy was in order?"

"Isn't all shopping retail?"

"I don't think so." Mercedes Catherine pondered it.

"Whatever. I need to buy the first few things for the house. Then if you haven't driven me crazy, we can go clothes shopping."

"And shoes?" Mercedes Catherine hoped.

"As long as we look for jewelry and books."

Mercedes Catherine threw her arms around her sister's neck and squeezed. "Deal!"

Marceline Anne regretted it immediately.

M-

Santana pushed the doorbell.
