Mercedes Catherine finished stitching her dress for that night. They were still having the party (at Blaine's house) for Marceline Anne but it was a combination welcome home party.

She felt apprehensive because no one had heard from Marceline Anne since the day she'd gone away. The doctors only gave Malcolm updates but he shared them with no one. Not even Marcus.

She worried that maybe they'd keep her longer. It wasn't Marceline Anne's first stay in a psychiatric hospital but Mercedes Catherine sure hoped it was her last.

The sixteen year old put her dress on her dressing dummy and went about getting her accessories right. She was going as Cleopatra from Cleopatra and Marc Antony.

Michael the Fourth would, of course, be Marc Antony.

Speaking of him, he was reading quietly in one of her closet's chairs. Except she knew he was stewing instead of actually reading his book.

She understood. She was stewing herself. It was why she was making her own costume instead of buying one. She needed something to do so she wouldn't go stir crazy.

He looked up and found her staring. "Are you okay?"

She almost lied and said yes but tears filled her eyes. "No. What if they keep her?"

"Then she'll be safe."

"Really?" She wasn't so sure. She also wasn't sure if she should tell him of her sister's attempts on her own life.

"Yes. She and the twins will be safe. They're all going to live." He desperately hoped so.

She went to him and sat in his lap to wrap her arms around his neck. "I love you so much."

"I love you, too baby. Everything's going to be alright."

M-

"Actually bring her home."

Malcolm turned to view his cousin angrily.

Karou crossed her arms. "I don't care. All I know is that she left one day and didn't come back. I don't like that."

He didn't either. "I'm bringing her home."

"Good. Although you could let me come with you."

"No. Her doctors don't want too many people around her right now."

"What about the party?"

"It's the last time she'll be around people until she goes to the hospital. She'll be in her own room there. She'll have peace."

Karou gave him a look. "Uhm hmm."

He narrowed his eyes on her before putting on his shoes and leaving. He hopped in his SUV and drove to the hospital.

He parked in the emergency, where she was supposed to be released. A nurse brought her out in a wheelchair. He got out and went to her.

She didn't look at him, instead gazing unseeingly at her feet.

"Is she angry?" He asked the nurse.

"It'll take a while to wear off." She smiled at him nervously.

He nodded before lifting his wife in his arms and putting her in the car. He buckled her in then shut the door on her. "Thank you!"

The nurse nodded as she went back inside.

He jogged around and got in to drive off. "Are you hungry?"

Marceline Anne didn't react.

He risked a peek and saw her eyes weren't even all the way open. He knew she was on sedatives but how much had they given her?! Or was she just mad at him?
