A/N - break time for me!

"You know YOU'RE ENGAGED,"
"I'm not the only one trapped with a ring on my finger."
"What do you mean?" Chaeyoung raised her eyebrow, not fully catching on.
Jimin just sighed, "you wouldn't understand, because you've never been forced to get married to someone."
"You asshole, I was fucking engaged to you." Now it was Jimin's turn to choke on his water as he took a casual sip.
"W-what?"
"Yes! Wow, so your parents didn't even tell you? How could I be engaged to my friend, when I...when I was so in love with j-Jungkook."
----
"No, that can't be. Jennie and my parents were planning this engagement since we were in high school." Jimin couldn't believe what he was hearing. He just couldn't process the shocking piece of news. To this day, jimin's parents never told that they had other plans in pairing him up with another girl, which happens to be one of his best friends.
How fucked up can that be.
No, this world was so fucked up. All these engagement set-ups. What for?
Wasn't love more important? ESPECIALLY since they were well off, so there was no need to fuse with another company for financial needs. IT was just greed ultimately to want more, since they would never be satisfied right?
How unfair is it, considering both Jimin and Jungkook's parents weren't set up. They fell in love organically. But that's another rant for another day.
"No. You are mistaken. Originally, it was me. And when they realized it wasn't going to work out and I wasn't going to give in, which leads to why Jennie is now your woman." Who is much suitable for you, in fact, perfect.
"Why ..." Jimin no longer wanted to be here. He was at a loss of words. He could never ever imagine marrying his friend.
HIS FRIEND!!!!!!!!
Jimin now reflected, maybe they should have gone to the keg or for some chipotle as what Jimin suggested earlier. The keg, because they had a huge variety of alcohol so he could drown his hard hit emotions. Chipotle, to just stuff an over 1000 calorie burrito with a whole bunch of stuff to satisfy his dull happiness.
Jimin had been in eating very healthily, and he just wasn't having it. Which explains why he agreed to join this hawaiian trip so he can eat all the junk he wanted.
"Why did both of our parents want to set us up you ask?" Chaeyoung couldn't help but let out a humourless laugh looking at jimin.
Jimin was speechless.
Letting out a fake grin, chaeyoung said, "It always reaches to the same conclusion from every arranged marriage that i've heard of in korea. Our families are greedy for money, being in the business world is such a hellish pathway that takes away your rational judgements. " Chaeyoung sighed before speaking, "our parents will never be satisfied until two top companies are together. They thought it was best to pair up individuals who don't love each other, because money is more important than love."
Chaeyoung wasn't finished speaking, so Jimin patiently waited, "they somehow knew that I liked Jungkook, and you liked Jennie. Love brings weakness, and a crumbling company. Our parents...were so selfish and pathetic. Especially mine." Chaeyoung frowned, as she recollected the memory. The past was too clear, she remembered every detail.
