Heartbroken

Chapter 9

I came back to the office on cloud nine. My lunch date went absolutely perfect. And to think he wants to get to know me better.

I knocked on Amber's door and waited for her to tell me to come in.

"Come in."

"Hey girl. I had to come see you and get the rest of the news about our bougie parents."

"Girl that was a hot mess. I pretty much told you what happened over the phone. But this is what I want to know. Who did you go to lunch with?"

"Now I think you need to mind the business that pays you."

"Why you acting like that? You don't want to tell me who it is?"

"Did you tell me who you went on a date with?"

"No but.."

I cut Amber off before she was able to finish her sentence. "Exactly now let's drop that. So what's the move for tomorrow?"

"Well as you can see we got everything set up. I'm about to call the caterer and photographer to make sure they get here early enough for showtime."

"What about the DJ?" I asked as I played with my hair.

"Already talked to them. It's good to go. I am so excited about this Raven."

"Me too. I really feel we are gonna be big around here."

"Yes me too."

"So you ready to go home for today?"Raven asked standing up.

"Yes we can go for today. Everything is done for tomorrow anyway." Amber said walking from behind her desk towards the door.

They walked out the office and stopped by Raven's office to get her things. Walking out the door they ran into Derrick.

"Leaving early today ladies?"

"Yes we are. We got some running around to do for outfits for tomorrow." Raven said blushing.

"Oh that's good. I have my outfit already. I can't wait to see the turn out."

"I know right. I can't wait either. This is gonna be so exciting."

"Indeed. Well I'll let you two go. I know you have things to do."

They both smiled and walked off after they said their goodbyes.

"He is so fine. I will show him what I'm working with."

"Raven you are too much. How you know he don't have a woman?"

"Listen a woman know these things. He may talk to someone but I bet he's not exclusive."

"Whatever man. Let's get out of here so we can go get our hair, nails, feet and outfits."

"Yes girl cause I'm ready to upstage these bitches."

They walked to the truck and went to the nail salon. They got their feet and hands done. After that they went shopping and got their hair done.
