Chapter 13

As the cleaning crew cleaned up the office we ended up meeting at the conference table to see what everyone thoughts was.

"So now that this is over what y'all think about everything?" Amber asked.

"I think things are gonna be great. I mean the investors spoke highly and everyone seems to be on one accord for the opening." Allison said.

"I agree." Raven said. "I truly feel this is about to be the best law firm ever."

Amber smiled and crossed her arms across her chest.

"What you thinking Amber?" Derrick asked her.

She looked at him and gave him this side smile.

"I just feel this is about to be awesome. And we did it all by ourselves. Without the help of my bougie parents."

"You got that right sis. And to think we didn't have to beat they ass tonight."

Everyone started laughing.

"Is this all we need to discuss? I got to get to my baby." Allison asked.

"No that's all for you Allison. You can go. Kiss my girl for me."

"I sure will." Allison said getting up and walking out the room.

Amber looked at Derrick and said "can I see you in my office alone for just a moment?"

"Sure. Let me lock my office and I'll be right there."

Derrick got up and walked out the conference room. Raven looked at Amber with a side eye.

"Hmm." Raven said.

Amber looked back at her with a confused look on her face.

"Hmm what?"

"What's that about? Is there something I should know about?"

"No mind your business that pays you. It's something I need him to do."

"And what's that? We are partners and I should know these things."

"You don't need to know this. Now if you will excuse me. I need to get to my office to take care of this."

Amber got up to walk out and Raven stood in front of her.

"Nah bitch. What you doing here?"

Amber sighs. "Raven I'm not about to do this with you. I just told you it's nothing."

"So why you can't tell me in person then what the meeting about?"

"Cause it's none of your business." Amber said getting a little frustrated.

"Is he the guy that you went out with the other night?"

"What did I tell you about my business?"

"And your business is MY business. Now tell me what's going on." Raven said getting mad.
