"...it is completely absurd. An investigation has been underway and the environment is safe for the child. I don't even see why this case is even a case!" Sam's mother's lawyer said.

"I also find absurd that an intern lawyer..."

Here we go again

"Is dealing with a sensitive topic."

"Objection." I raised a hand and rolled my eyes.

"Miss Winters?"

"May I say that it is completely absurd that a child of our state is being neglected by the state? It is our duty to take care of the children and not put them in harm's way. So you're an honour, I would like to present some information to the jury and yourself."I handed a file to the judge while copies of those were sent around the jury.

"I would also like to say that the jokes about my age are getting quite old and just shows unprofessionalism, Mr Donohue"

A few people in the crowd murmured in agreement.

"Thank you, Miss winters. The jury will confer during the 1-hour break that has now been permitted"

"He just eating away at me!" I sighed in despair to Andy and Chan.

"Don't worry Emma! You've got it! We've got your back. And I know someone else who does...."

She nodded over to Drew who was taking to Sammy...

Drew

"Miss winters told me you're like me..." Sam said.

"Yeah... I am. I know what you're going through kid... Trust me. Things get better..."

"How? If no one listens to me?"

"You make your own rules. That's what I did. The only person in control of you is you." I pointed to his chest and he nodded.

"But give this a chance, Hm? You have Miss winters! I wish I had someone like her." I placed my hand on his shoulder.

"Do you love her?" He asked.

I smiled and said "Very much... And you know what? There's someone out there for you too. Someone to fight for."

"There is?"

"Of course... Right now, you have your dad..." I looked at the man behind him.

"Miss winters.. and me." I smiled at him.

He hugged me tightly and I was surprised... Not knowing how to react...

Emma

"Drew..." I smiled to myself as I saw Sammy hug him.

Drew

"Thanks..." He pulled away.

"You're a good kid Sammy..." I tilted my head and messed up his hair.

Emma

I walked over to Drew as he stood up and dropped my arms around his neck and kissed him deeply, as arms around my back.

"Ew..." Sammy giggled.

We pulled away and I stroked his cheek before he held me and I smiled as I looked at Sammy.

I looked up at Drew...
