Drew

I woke up the next morning and turned slowly to Emma who was still peacefully sleeping.

"Emma..." I kissed her gently making her lips curve into a smile.

"Morning..." She said as her eyes opened.

"Morning..." I stroked her hair.

"It's time for me to hold up my end of the deal... Early morning story time?"

"Ooo I like this idea..." She moved closer and I placed my arm about her.

"Well... Let's get to it."

Flashback: yesterday

I smiled and put my phone in my pocket as the car came about the corner.

"Finally! You're here." I sighed

"Yep. So. What are we actually doing here?" Flynn asked

"We're going to investigate! Sleuth you know. All the good stuff." I slipped off the hood of the car.

"Okay inspector gadget, lead the way." He put his hands in hispocket and we started to walk.

Once we got to the... Area.

Flynn froze.

"Looks like no one's been here since the crime..." Eric said.

Police tape on the wall and floor...

He nodded and ripped off the tape and walked through.

So far, we've sussed out that Martha's body had been moved here, post mortem to make the drug over dose more likely. That's why there's traces of blood in Essers car.

"What exactly are we looking for?" We walked down the alleyway.

"We're looking for evidence to tie whoever we can to the case. Moreno wants Danny out of jail and I'm not letting that happen."

We came to a door that also had police tape on it and opened it, cautiously heading inside.

"Oh my god..." Eric said.

A room, dirty and bare, lit by a singular bulb hanging from the ceiling. Packets and missulandous belongings on the floor...

"Come on. Let's get this done." Flynn almost shivered.

I pulled out some plastic gloves from my pockets and handed them to the guy's.

Flynn

It makes me hate John more.

This is where my mom had to spend the last two years of her life...

I crouched down and carefully started to flick through the belongings...

"Hey I've got something.' Eric said a few minutes later.

"A diary?" Drew wiped his brow with his arm.

Small and red, dirty with a gold rim and a small silver latch attached to the side and I carefully opened it.

"Mom's handwriting..." I stated.

"She documented her time here..." Eric carefully moved through the pages.

"Go to 2010." I nodded.

"Here. August 2010..."

I know i made a mistake leaving my children. I know I made a mistake by marrying John.
But nobody is prepared for what's to happen next. Neither am I... Something is wrong back home. Daniel wouldn't visit unless something was up that he was running from and with Michaels sudden death...
