Emma

A week or so later

November!

It's finally here!

Christmas is so soon and winter is around the corner! I'm in my element.

However...Danny being a pain in the backside hasn't helped.

Seeing him walk about town as a free man... It bothers me.

But I have an amazing support system here so I know everything will be alright!

And right now? These are the mornings I live for....

Lying on the bed with my love as the morning light shines through in the coolness of autumn...

"Let's just stay here...all day..." I smiled.

His smile matched mine and he said "You know I want that more than anything... But my computer should have been able to track Robert by now." He said.

That's what we've been waiting for. He's ditched his phone and is somewhere but we're not sure where. As good as that may seem, he could be conspiring against us with Moreno.

"Hm.... you're right..."I sighed.

He took my hand and said "soon enough... We'll have everyday as on opportunity to just lie here... okay?" He watched my eyes.

I nodded, smiling again at the thought of that... He got up and pulled me up with him as we went to his study

"Okay..." He sighed as he sat in his chair.

"The moment of truth..." I raised a brow as I paced behind him

".... Eastboron?" He raised a brow

I stopped and went up behind him, watching the screen. Credit card had tracked him to there in the last 48 hours...

We had to go through lengths to get his credit card info.

"What could he possibly want in Eastboron?" Drew leaned back and pented his fingers.

"Well... We know one thing for sure." I looked down to him and he looked up

"My grandmother's house is there."

"The last time they were there... They took that trunk, remember?"

I nodded and he said "Looks like we need another trip to Eastboron."

"Finally! Something exciting!" I stepped back as he stood up.

He analysed me for a second with a smirk and said "This is why I love you."

"Because I'm just as much of a thrill seeker as you?" I smiled.

"That's what I was referring to. But of course, there are many more reasons." He shrugged.

I walked over to him as he leaned against his desk and gently trailed a finger over the bruise that remains on his rib.

"Kind of getting used to it now..." He said as he watched.

"Drew...I don't want you to get hurt... Again..." I looked up to his eyes.

"It's the price I pay to protect you and our life together... Worth it if you ask me."

"...There's no changing your mind is there?" I sighed.

"Emma..." He stroked my hair.

"I'll always stay as safe as I can... But if it comes down to you and me? It's you I'm choosing to save. Every time."
