Drew

"Are you sure?" I raised a brow.

"Yep." Emma nodded.

"Because babe if you're not..."

"No. Nope. 100 percent okay."

I told Emma about the possibility of Danny getting out of prison.

And...

And I'm not quite sure how's she taking it.

"If I supress them, then I can't feel stressed, right?"

"Sweetheart that's not going to help..." I sighed, my brow creasing with concern.

She got up and started to pace.

"So. I don't want to stress... But we don't hide anything from eachother, right?" She said.

"Right." I watched, slightly concerned for her well being.

"Okay. Just wanted to clarify."

I looked to Andrea and she looked to me.

"So the guy who killed my mom might be getting out of prison? Right. Okay."

"Emma..." I stood up and held her shoulders.

"Drew.... I...I..." She started to hyperventilate and I held her close.

"I'll get you some water..." Andy said.

"Breathe Emma... Focus on your breathing..." I said as I placed my chin on top of her head.

I grasped onto her hair and said "everything is going to be okay..."

Soon she started to calm down and my heart rate returned to its normal pace. Still holding her close, I sighed, taking a deep breath...

What the hell am I supposed to do?

It's killing me to see her like this...

"I don't know what I'm supposed to do..." She said, as if our minds were connected some how.

I looked into her eyes and said "You're not going to go through this alone..."

She nodded as Andy came in with a glass of water.

"Thank you sweetie..." She said as she took a sip.

"Let me work on this Em. I'll call in tomorrow, okay?" She placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Yeah... Thank you."

"See you later Drew." She placed a hand on my arm before going.

"See you.."

Flashback: 2018

"This is perfect..." Emma said as we lay in my bed one perfect May morning.

"Yeah.... No Danny interruptions in weeks... Had the best birthday I've ever had....my girlfriend's perfect..." I kissed her cheek.

She smiled and said "still haven't gotten used to that...after wanting to be with you for so long...."

"Hm... Same...." I smiled back.

"Oh I can't believe How happy I am... Not a stress in the world... And all thanks to you... Something tells me this is going to be the best summer ever..."

I turned on my side and Said "me too..." And kissed her deeply... She placed an arm about my shoulder and gently guided me over her as we smiled greatly against eachothers touch.
