nikki's mom is probably raising nikki alone n' tries her best but nikki's energy is just too much for her. nikki is pretty oblivious of how much of a whore her mom is, but she is smart enough to know that most people don't have a new guy at the house every weekend. she likes camp because it has stability, it's always just david n' gwen n' the quartermaster n' campbell. nobody else coming n' going all the time. she hates change, and likes to keep things consistent although that's hard to do at home

neil brushes off his parent's divorce n' acts like it doesn't get to him, but it does. he just jokes it off but really it bothers him. he wishes things could be how they used to. this was one of the reasons he got so focused on science, he already liked it before but he was really trying to keep his mind off his home life by using science as an escape. his parents divorce is the reason he's so emotionally withdrawn
