max is depressed but like not in the cUt mYsElF oMg i WaNnA dIe type of way, more in the way that he just is really physically n' mentally tired n' has low self esteem. the only reason he can get up everyday n' go on adventures n' stuff is bc of the strong caffeine doses he takes in everyday (1-2 cups of black coffee a day, plus he's smol so)
