"Okay we understand." I say. The same day after breakfast me and Luke went to the police station. No kids were reported as missing. They told us to go and ask in the adoption places in town and if anything happens they will call us.
Kimmy was waiting outside for us with this nice policewoman. All three of us soon made our way down to the 'Lisa's adoption home.' It was the only adoption place in town. When we got there Kimmy seemed worried. "What's up Kimmy?" Luke asks. "I don't want to go there." She says scared. "Come on. We'll just be there a second." I smile at her.
As soon as we were inside a elderly woman ran up to us. "Kimberly! Where have you been?" The woman shouts. "And who are you people?" She adds looking at us. "We've found her in the morning. She came to our house. We thought she's lost." Said Luke. "Oh I see. Well let's go to my office. You'll need to fill some papers in." Says the woman. "Kimmy, go to your room." She adds. Slowly Kimmy walks away. She looks so sad.
When we are finally done filling in the papers we start leaving the place. Luke looked kind of sad. We were literally about to leave when Kimmy ran up to us. "Don't leave." She says. "We have to." I say. "No!" She shouts. The elderly woman instantly runs up to us with another younger woman. "What is going on?" The younger woman asks. "I want mummy-Emma and daddy-Luke to stay!" Kimmy protested. My heart froze when she said 'mummy-Emma.' I think Luke was shocked as well. "They're not your parents Kim!" The older woman shouted. "I want them to stay!" Kimmy shouted. The older woman was about to shout again when I stopped her. "Kimmy." I say kneeling down to her like I did before. "We'll come back soon. Okay? We'll come and see you on Saturday." I say. "Pink promise?" She said. "Pinky promise." Said Luke also kneeling down now. Kimmy hugged both of us. "Bye!" Said Kimmy as the younger woman took her back to her room.
