Chapter 43.

3 weeks and 2 days later...

"Luke! Come to the hospital. Quick." Kendra squeaks.
I look at the clock beside my bed.
"Kendra. It's 3am. Is anything wrong with Emma?" I say in a sleepy voice.
"Just come to the hospital. Please." She said and hung up.
I quickly get out of my bed and put some random clothes on before getting into my car.

As soon as I get to the hospital Kendra runs up to me.
"She woke up!" She says jumping.
"She what?" I can't believe it. I lost all my hopes for hearing them words. She is back. I will keep her forever now. I won't let her leave. I missed her so much.
"She's back!" Said Kendra really excited. "Let's go in!" She pulls me into the hospital.
Kendra's fiancé welcomes us as soon as we enter the hospital. She instantly runs up to him and hugs him.
"I'm so happy!" She says.
We sat in the waiting room for about 20 minutes until the doctor came in.
"Miss Drew? We need to talk." Says the doctor.
"Oh right okay." Kendra stands up and goes away with the doctor leaving me and her fiancé alone.
"How you feeling?" He asks me.
"I'm feeling great right now, thanks." I say.
"I bet." He says awkwardly.
Kendra comes back into the room soon and just quietly sits down.
"What's up?" I say.
She puts her head in her hands. "She won't remember you." She says.
"What?" I say.
"She's got long term amnesia. She will only remember things from her childhood. She won't remember anything that happened the year of her accident nor a year before that or a year earlier either. Which means, she won't remember you." She says.
"But, she has to." I stand up in disbelief.
"Sorry." She says.
"Miss Drew? Would you like to see her." The nurse asks.
"Yes." She says and stands up. "Come on boys." She turns to us.
"It's a bad idea. It's better that only family sees her." Says the nurse.
"They are family." Says Kendra bitterly.
"Alright." Says the nurse. "Follow me."
We followed the nurse. We went through corridors of crying people. They lost their loved ones.
"Here says the nurse." As we stop outside the last door in the corridor.
"But I must warn you. Do not mention anything about the accident. She's not ready for this. Also no fights. And she's very tried and probably confused to what's going on so don't question her too much. But the most important thing is not to mention the accident." Says the nurse before opening the door.
It's currently 4am.
I see Emma's eyes for the first time in over a year.
Her eyes on Kendra but slowly drifting to me. I'm secretly hoping that the whole long term amnesia is not real and that she'll just hug me and remember me.
"Kendra? Who're they?" She asks.
Her voice is exactly the same. So sweet.
"My fiancé, Bradley. Remember?" Says Kendra sitting beside her.
"Hey, pumpkin." Bradley smiles.
"Hey." She smiled back. "Who's this?" She says looking confused at me.
"Luke. Your friend." Kendra explains.
I can't get any words out of my mouth. Not a single hello.
Emma's shakes her head. "I don't know him."
