Chapter 47.

I sit still in Luke's car carefully scanning the road for anything familiar but obviously I see nothing even close to being familiar.
"Have you ever been in New York?" He asks me.
"No," I say after thinking carefully through it. "but I've always wanted to."
"Good." He grins. I look at him with my suspicious eyes. "What?" He laughs.
"Nothing."
"Okay?"
"Okay."
"Don't you The Fault In Our Stars me!" Luke laughs.
"The fault in our... what?"
"It's a book and a movie. Wanna watch it later?"
"Is it good?"
"You'll see. I give no spoilers." He grinned.
"Fine."
"Fine."
"Fine." I laugh.
"Maybe fine will be our okay and always?" He smirks.
"What?" I laugh.
"You were suppose to say fine but it's okay. You probably think I'm weird but you'll see what I mean when you see the movie.
"Fine."
"Fine."
"Fine." I grin.

About twenty minutes later we arrive to a big black and white, oddly shaped house with huge windows and a swimming pool outside. It's way too big for him to live there alone, someone must live with him there.
"Nice house." I smile.
"Thanks. It's new. I only just bought it about three months ago."
"Do you live here alone?"
"Sadly." He says trying to pull a sad face. "Kendra is inside with Brad, they decided they want to stay for a week so I asked them to stay here."
"That's great."
"By the way, don't be shocked with what you see."
"Huh?"
"Shh." He grins and as he tries to open the door he bites his lip and looks so sexy.
The second I walk in a horrible smell hits me. I turn to Luke. He seems casual about it. Brad comes and smiles. "Hello hello hello!" He smiles. "Hi." I say. "Kendra wanted to pick you up--" he lowers his voice and points upstairs. "she's kind of busy." I take a few steps towards the staircase and look up and then look at Luke and then Brad and at Luke again.
"Go on." They say almost at the same time before turning to each other and bursting out laughing.
I leave them alone and slowly walk up the stairs. As I get higher up the stairs the horrible smell grows stronger.
Upstairs there are four room. Three of the rooms half the door wild open and I can see straight away that there is nobody there. There's only one room with the door half closed blocking everything inside. I slowly and quietly tip-toe to the room. As I get closer the terrible smell grows even bigger. I put my head close to the door expecting to hear my sister voice however instead I hear a squeaky scream which is so familiar but at the same time it's the strangest of unfamiliar screams. If that even makes any sense... I open the door and my mouth drops down so much that it almost touched the floor. Two pairs of eyes turn to me.
"Emma!" My sister runs up to me and hugs me when the second pair of eyes starts screaming again. "Oooh, Emma, meet Élana." She says letting go of me and picking up a lovely blonde baby girl.
"Oh my god! When? How? What?" I suddenly burst out with questions.
"She's three months old. The doctors told me not to tell you in case it's too shocking for you."
"She is so cute." It's true. She is beautiful. She has hazel eyes just like Kendra and lovely blonde curly hair. She's a little princess.
"Ken, come here for a sec!" Brad shouts.
"Oh Emma, stay with Élana for a second."
I nod my head. Only seconds later the baby starts crying. To my surprise not Kendra came but Luke.
"Here, hold her like this." He says twisting her in my hands. A second later she stops crying.
I look up at Luke and notice that our heads are just less than an inch away from each other. Luke smiled and I smile back not moving. He moves closer. We are now so close to each other that I can feel his warm breath on my forehead. Yep. My forehead. This is the size difference between us. I am tiny. But soon it doesn't matter as he leans down a bit a carefully, trying to not squish the baby, kisses me.
