"You do know it's probably gonna rain, right?" I laughed. My boyfriend, Chris, simply shrugged as he drove.

"I'm almost never home, and we already made the plan." Chris chuckled, "Do you think I care if it rains?"

I giggled at his thoughtfulness. He was on a two week break from touring with his band, Motionless In White, so we were going out.

He had come up with the idea to head out to this big field outside our hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania, and have a picnic there.

I was a little opposed due to the weather, but it couldn't be that bad. Besides, I'll do anything if I have him by my side.

He turned on my favorite H.I.M. song, "Right Here In My Arms," and we continued to drive.

She is smiling

Like Heaven's down on Earth

About 10 minutes later, we got to the field. Chris hurried around to open my car door for me, but in doing so, he forgot to shut off the engine.

I laughed at him as I turned off the car, then delicately placed my hand in his in acceptance of the offer.

"Such a gentleman." I remarked, smiling up at him. "Only for you." he blushed, staring into my blue eyes as he brushed back a piece of my blonde hair.

He leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to my pale cheek before getting the icebox and blankets from the backseat.

I noticed he was struggling slightly with it, so I took the blankets from him. "You don't have to, Hanna." Chris mumbled shamefully.

"I want to." I replied, leaning my head against his arm for a moment.

He chuckled and took my free hand in his, interlacing our fingers as we walked.

We reached a flat area, so we spread out the biggest blanket and set things down.

"So, happy to be home?" I asked. He'd just gotten back yesterday. "Oh God yes. I missed being with you." Chris answered, cupping my small face in his large hands.

"I missed you too baby." I blushed, looking down. He tilted my head back up gently, then leaned down and kissed me softly.

"Come on, let's sit." I mumbled. The feel of his lips on mine has never failed to make me lightheaded.

He chuckled at me as he sat on the blanket, then pulled me down to sit in his lap.

I wrapped one arm around his neck as I grabbed the icebox and pulled it closer to us.

"Whadja pack us?" Chris asked. I smirked and opened the chest, handing him a container of chicken wings.

He looked from the me, to the container, then to me. "Well I guess I found the girl I'm gonna marry."

I laughed and kissed him before handing him a bottle of Naked juice. "So um, I'm gonna head over to your parents tomorrow, get their uh, blessing or whatever."

I laughed again as I pulled out a Ziploc bag of pizza. "Princess, are you tryna make me fat?" Chris laughed, setting down the chicken and juice to hug me tightly.

"No, I'm trying to make you happy." I giggled, getting out a sandwich for myself.

I heard thunder boom overhead, and it didn't sound far away. "Chris, do you think we should just do this tomorrow?" I asked worriedly.

"But we're already here." Chris huffed, "Are you that afraid of getting wet?"

I rolled my eyes at him. About ten minutes later, it started raining.

Correction.

The sky became a fucking monsoon.

"I told you!" I growled at Chris, throwing our food in the box while he grabbed the blankets.

We raced back to the car and jumped in, shutting the doors quickly.

"'Do you think I care if it rains?' Says the one who ran for dear life." I snapped at him.

He threw his hands up before rubbing his face in defeat, somehow managing to not screw up his makeup.

"I'm fucking sorry I didn't expect torrential downpour, Hanna." Chris groaned.

I sighed, taking one of his hands in mine. "It's fine, but I'm pretty sure that little bridge we had to drive over is flooded..."

"Oh, GREAT!" Chris exclaimed, and I threw my head back against the seat. "So, we're just stuck here for the night?" I asked.

"Basically." he grumbled. I raised an eyebrow before crawling into the back, setting the icebox in the passenger seat, and spreading out one of the blankets.

"There." I smirked, "Bed." Chris turned to look, and chuckled before joining me.

"This actually is a pretty good idea." he admitted, laying down as best he could and pulling me on top of his tall, lanky body.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and gave him a quick peck on the lips before resting my head on his shoulder.

I then fell asleep to the combined.sounds of the rain, and Chris humming his song City Lights for me.
