I made sure I waited a few minutes until my dad's car pulled out of the driveway, just in case he came back cuz he forgot something, then grabbed my backpack out of the closet.

Today was the day. I was going to do it. I was finally leaving. I've been so scared of this moment, but I just can't handle this anymore.

Ever since my mom died four years ago, my dad has been beating me every single day, due to my strong resemblance of my mother, and has.....raped, me, several times a week.

But no more.

Time to leave this all behind.

I pulled on my Lucipurr BlackCraftCult hoodie (leave it to a girl called Angel to wear such a thing), threw on my combat boots, made sure I had everything I was taking in my backpack, then left the house.

I walked around the San Diego streets for a while, just looking at everything, and enjoying the feel of being free.

But once it neared nighttime, I knew I needed to find a place to settle. But then, I started thinking, what's the point?

Oh wait, there isn't one.

I'm alone, I have nothing, and I'll never be anything.

I walked down the first alleyway I came across and took my backpack off, setting it down against a wall, then sat down next to it.

I unzipped the front pocket of my backpack and pulled out my tiny little box that contained my blades, then opened it.

I selected my biggest and sharpest one, resting it on my pale leg so I could put the box away.

For a moment, I thought I heard two familiar voices talking, but when I focused, there was no sound other than the normal noises of the city.

I sighed, pulling up my sleeves and picking up my blade. I started out slow, just making cuts going across, building up the courage to do it.

I watched as blood started to drip down my wrists, onto my legs and the ground.

There was something so incredibly calming about it, the simplicity perhaps.

I smiled at the crimson red, welcoming it whole-heartedly, along with the pain.

I picked up my blade again, knowing I was ready, when I heard the two voices again. This tine, they were closer sounding.

I pulled my sleeves down immediately, put my hood up, and brought my knees up to hopefully hide most of the blood.

"Mike, come on, I wanna go home!" a male voice complained. "Hang on, okay? I saw something." another, probably Mike, shot back.

A moment later, two figures stepped into view, and my heart dropped at the sight of them.

Suddenly ashamed of what I'd been doing, I put my head down, allowing my long black hair to fall over my face.

"Hey, are you alright?" Mike Fuentes called to me, and I tensed up, remaining silent.

"Miss? Are you alright?" Vic asked, sounding closer to me than Mike did. I felt something shuffle beside me, the sound of someone sitting next to me.

"Are you okay?" Mike asked softly, and I nodded my head, hoping they would leave me alone to die in peace.

"What's your name?" Vic asked. I stayed silent, and heard him sigh. "What are you doing out here? Shouldn't you be home?" Mike asked.

I shook my head no, and said quietly, "I left." Neither of them said anything, so I poked my head out from under my hood to see them mouthing a conversation.
