I sat backstage at my older cousin's concert, feeling bored out of my mind.

It's my 19th birthday, and my cousin Max refuses to let me do anything I actually want.

He's more protective of me than my parents are!

But then, it might have something to do with the fact I have a major crush on the lead singer of his band: Craig Mabbitt.

At this particular moment, I'm just watching them play from offstage. They're playing Picture Perfect, and then they've got one last song, which is You Are So Beautiful.

When they finished the song, Craig stopped to address the crowd, so I brushed the bangs of my firey red hair side to get a better look.

"Alright you guys, we've got one more song for you tonight!" Craig shouted.

The audience gave out a mix of boos and cheers, and Craig chuckled. "All great things must come to an end!" he smirked, making me giggle.

"For this last song, I want someone to come join me on this stage." he announced, "She's a good friend of all of ours, and I want you all to meet her."

Craig turned to face me. "Destiny! Come on out here birthday girl!"

The crowd started cheering, and I could feel butterflies gnawing away at my stomach as I hesitantly made my way over to him.

Craig pulled me to sit on a platform with him, and I felt Max's eyes burning into my back.

"Hope you all like this song!" Craig grinned, then started singing, keeping his arm around my waist the entire time.

I could have found

A better way

You know I never

Should have stayed

I could have done

The things that I believed

Were wrong

(You know you're wrong)

Now you're saying that it's late

It doesn't matter what I say

You know you're just another

One of my mistakes

Ahhh

You are so beautiful

You are the kind of girl

That has the chemicals

That makes me fall in love

Beautiful

You are the kind of girl

That has the chemicals

That makes me fall in love

So now I'm feeling

Like a slave

I'm locked away

Inside this grave

And now I'm hoping for a way

I can be saved

(I can't be saved)

You know that there

Will come a day

When I'm just gonna

Have to change

You know you're just another

One of my mistakes

Ahhh

You are so beautiful

you are the kind of girl

That has the chemicals

That makes me fall in love

Beautiful

You are the kind of girl

That has the chemicals

That makes me fall in love

You know I found

A small paper

You lied about

You lied about

You know I found

A small paper

You lied about

You lied about

You lie to me

Lie to me

You are so beautiful

You are the kind of girl

That has the chemicals

That makes me fall in love

Difficult

So very typical

You are the kind of girl

That makes me fall in love

Fall in love

The crowd cheered like crazy when the song ended, and Craig hugged me. "Happy birthday, Destiny." he whispered sweetly.

"Thanks." I blushed, hugging him back. "Goodnight everybody!" he shouted into the mic, then led me and the guys offstage.

Craig pulled me aside, asking to talk to me. "What's up?" I asked shyly once we were alone.

"I um, I wanted to tell you something..." he told me awkwardly, "Destiny, I um... I like you." he admitted, his cheeks turning pink.

I smiled at him and hugged him tightly. "I like you too." I confessed, kissing his cheek and pulling away.

His arms snaked around my waist to pull me back, making me giggle. "Destiny, will you be my girlfriend?" he asked hopefully, and I nodded.

"Of course I will."

Craig smiled largely and lightly pressed his lips to mine, just in time to hear Max yelling, "CRAIG WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?!"

Max stomped over to us, and my happiness was erased, replaced by anger and frustration.

"What the fuck do you two think you're doing?!" Max growled at us.

"Converting oxygen into carbon dioxide." I replied sarcastically, smirking at him.

His face literally turned red with rage, and I honestly thought steam was about to start shooting out his ears like a cartoon character.

"You!" he hissed, pointing a finger at Craig, "I told you hands off my cousin, she is off fucking limits!"

Craig stammered, searching for the right words to say, but I stepped up. "You're not my dad, you don't get a say, Max.

"If you really care, you'll be happy that I'm happy." Max opened his mouth to speak, then shut it when he realized I was right.

"Whatever." he muttered, storming away. I giggled at him, then turned back to Craig. "So, where were we?"
