Chapter 14: Secrets Are Out

Lauren's P.O.V

I really miss Axel. It's been only one day since him and Roxanne went to the real world. But it feels like months. I think I have a crush on him. Fuck.

I slowly stood up and looked around. The others were still asleep. I took advantage of it and decided to go for a walk to get some fresh air.

The forest is really boring. The only thing that you see are trees, trees and once again trees. I took the old mirror with me, Roxanne gave it to us so we can get in contact with Gloria in case with need her help.

I was walking for what it seemed like hours when I finally noticed a river near by. I approached it and sat on the green grass.

The river was like a dark colour blue and you couldn't see your reflection. I took out my hand to touch the water. It was cold and it made me shivered. I looked down at my arms. Scars and bruises everywhere.

But you probable thinking how I managed to come to this world, right? Well, my story is short and sweet so it won't last for very long.

I came to this world a week ago. When it was my birthday and I turned 17. My parents were good and protectively people.

Unfortunately, they died when I was a baby. I don't remember much about them. Though my aunt and uncle were always telling me stories about them. And how much I look a lot like my father. They adopted me and I lived with them ever since. They are like my parents I never had and I'm glad about it.

I was on my aunt's and uncle's basement when I noticed three tall men standing in the corner, looking nothing but the wooden wall. "Hello?" I said and they immediately turned to face me. They didn't have faces and you couldn't see their expressions.

"Don't worry Lauren, we are here to talk." One of them said. I started walking backwards but they were walking forwards. My back hit the wooden wall behind me. I was shaking for my life.

"What do you want? Leave me alone!" I screamed in order to hear me.

"Going to talk." They said. Suddenly one of them grabbed my arms and tied them up behind my back. I was fighting and screaming but no one could hear me.

One of the men approached me and put a towel in front of my face. I was starting to feel dizzy and then all I could see was darkness.

And then I came here. In this forest. Nowhere else except here. Of course, the first night I was being attacked by wolves, they are the reason why I have all these scars now. And then I met the others. I have heard them before. Everybody said that they were the 'chosen ones'. I agree. They are the only people that will save us and this world. And-

"Lauren? Is that you?" I looked down at the mirror. It was Gloria.

"Gloria?"

"Yes dear, that's me." She said and smiled. "Where are the others?"

"Er-Sophie and Aaron are sleeping and-uh-Roxanne and Axel went to the real world." I said awkwardly. I didn't know if I should tell her or not.

"Oh my, what are they doing there?"

"Um, finding the Dark Crystal?" A small smirk appeared at her face and I felt relief. She knows, she knows everything.

"Where are you?" I looked around and smiled.

"I went for a walk. I needed some fresh air, clear my head a little bit."

"I see, are you exciting about what creature you will be?" She asked and I nodded. "Oh my goodness, you are nervous?"
