Chapter 9:Erma and The Twins Join The Search!

So in the last Chapter Xander, Sam, Haru, and Kentaro all went to a bar that was a personal favorites of Kentaro's. After some close calls with patron Yokai of the bar, things seemed to have settled down for now. Although what could three little girls be doing back at the manor?

Erma wandered through the halls of the Yuriemoto house with an annoyed look on her face. Her parents, Aunts and Uncles were out searching for her Aunt Rin and she wasn't allowed to help! Erma let out an angry huff as she continued to stomp through the halls of the large house. Although one other thing had been bothering Erma since her a parents went out to search for Aunt Rin. Mitsu and Momo had been awfully quiet since the adults left and that had her scared. Those two little demons were nothing but trouble, Erma honestly had a hard time believing they were Uncle Xander and Aunt Yori's kids.
"Hey Cus! Come here!" Erma turned to see Mitsu waving at her from one of the rooms. Erma entered the room with her guard up, ready for any prank the Twins might throw at her. "Alright Momo you got all of the stuff?" Mitsu asked her sister as she got an excited nod in response. "Come on Cus, you wanna help find Aunt Rin, right?" Mitsu asked as Erma perked up at her words. "We'll follow us! First we have to take care of Kenji." Momo said as she held some kind of powder in her hand. "What are you troublemakers doing in here?" Kenji asked as he glared down at the girls.
             Momo blew the powder into Kenji's eye as his pupil went wide and a large grin spread across his face. "That's an old trick Grandma taught us, we can teach it to you later if ya want." Mitsu said as the three kids made they're way to the roof of the building. Erma began to think maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all. "What's the matter Cus? Getting cold feet?" Momo asked in a teasing tone that wasn't the usual nasty one she had, but instead rather playful. "Don't worry Cus, we're going together! We'll look out for each other!" Mitsu said as she grabbed Erma's hand before all three jumped off the roof.
                          Erma has spent the last hour and a half asking around for any signs of where Aunt Rin could be with little success. Although Mitsu and Momo were doing nothing to help her! Instead they seemed to be searching for something else instead and that just upset Erma, she really shouldn't have trusted those brats! Erma was pulled from her thoughts by the sound of talking coming from an alleyway as she turned and walked down it. Erma found a group of the local kids, who were cowering in fear at the site of Mitsu and Momo. Erma felt her blood boil as her hair stood up wildly at the site.
              "Listen we're not gonna hurt you! All we wanna know is have you seen a red haired man around here?" Mitsu said in an almost pleading voice to the kids who didn't seem to believe them. "Please we really need to know if you've seen him! I beg of you!" Momo said as she looked at the group of children with pleading eyes. Before they could get an answer, the Twins were picked up by their hoods and were now looking at an angry Erma. Erma smiled at the group of kids as they thanked her for helping them. After the kids were gone Erma set her cousins back on the ground as she tapped her foot on the ground impatiently.
"Cus I know this looks bad, but please just let us explain." Mitsu said in a surprisingly timid voice for the usually mischievous girl. Erma only intensified her glare as she pointed at her drawing of Rin before turning to walk away from her bratty cousins. "Erma please wait!" Momo said as she grabbed Erma by the wrist, stopping the girl clean in her tracks. Erma whipped around and once again glared at her cousin, but was willing to give them one more chance to redeem themselves. "I won't lie to you, we did talk you into helping find Aunt Rin for our own selfish reasons." Momo started as Erma flared up with anger.
"W-We tricked you into this because we wanted to find our dad." Momo said meekly as she tried to hold back her tears. Erma's glare went to a look of surprise at her cousin's words. "W-We've finally have him back in our lives and we don't wanna lose him! I know we bullied and lied to you, but please believe us when we say we're sorry!" Mitsu whimpered out as she dropped to her knees and started to let a few tears fall. Erma walked up to the twins and pulled them both into a hug, much to their surprise. The Twins eventually returned the hug as the trio finally patched things up between them.
Erma let her cousins go as they finally got back to looking for Aunt Rin in the town. Mitsu and Momo decided to ask an owner of a fireworks cart if they had seen anything. "Excuse me mister, have you seen our Aunt? She has long black hair and the body of a snake." Momo asked as the cart owner scratched his chin in thought. "No I haven't seen her, funny some guy came up to my stand an hour or two ago asking the same thing." The cart owner said as Mitsu and Momo's eyes widened. "Did that guy have red hair?!" Mitsu asked in excitement and hope at the cart owner's words.
"Now that I think about it that fella did have red hair. I didn't even know someone's hair could be that color!" The Cart owner said with a chuckle as Mitsu and Momo both jumped with joy. "Do you know where he went?" Momo asked in hopes of finally being able to find her dad. "Sorry little lady despite the unique hair color, I lost site of him in the crowd." The cart owner said as he once again scratch his chin. "Oh, thanks anyway mister." Mitsu said in a slightly deflated tone as they began to walk away. "Hey hold on a sec! Take this with you!" The shopkeeper said as he tossed Momo a firework.
                              "What's this for?" Momo asked the Cart owner as she looked at the firework in complete confusion. "You girls seem smart and can take care of yourselves, but there can be some unsavory individuals around here. Think of that as a little extra firepower, just in case." The Cart owner said as he waved the twins off as they joined up with Erma once again. "So any luck on your end Cus?" Mitsu asked as Erma looked down sadly. "Yeah we didn't do so well either on that front. Although we did find out our dad passed through her, so it wasn't a complete bust!" Momo said happily as the three flew off to the next part of town. Little did they know, they were being watched.
Erma was actually having fun with her cousins for once! Sure they still didn't really have any leads on where Aunt Rin, but they weren't going to let that discourage them! The trio made their way across a bridge before stopping in the middle. "Hey Cus do think we could take a quick break? We've been at this for hours!" Momo said as she leaned against the bridge railing. "Yeah we won't be able to find Aunt Rin if we're completely exhausted." Mitsu added as she sat down and crossed her legs. Erma decided to join her cousins in a quick break before continued their search. "Well, well what do we have here?" A female voice said surprising the trio.

Cliffhanger! In all honesty all of you who have read the Erma comic knows what's coming next. Anyway what will happen to Erma and the Twins next time? What kinda trouble will they get into next?
