don't cry please.
"i had a boyfriend for a little while too." she explained; still on the roof top with her friend?- whatever finn is to her. they we joking around now. telling stories. after sadie's break down finn tried to cheer her up a bit.
"i've never had a girlfriend, really. or a boyfriend." he added in.
"are you bisexual?" she asked bluntly; not even meaning too. finn slightly smiled.
"yeah, i think." he laughed.
"well; don't get a boyfriend. mine cheated on me with my," she paused to use finger quotes, "best friend." finn shook his head;
they laughed along together for what it felt like hours. finn now knew her better than anyone here.
she told him about why she's here.
about the fact that she tried killing herself.
which no one knew. and she wasn't planning to tell anyone.
but that doesn't matter; he knows now. he knows everything.
they laughed, told each other stories for hours. right up until the sky was about to get dark, and it was getting colder.
sadie couldn't stand the cold; so of course they went directly inside.
sadie waved finn a goodbye; a smile rested on her face. they would see each other soon again for dinner.
right until she walked in her room.
millie sat on sadie's bed, she waited for her. she had a worried look. maybe even sad. sadie's smile dropped knowing there was something wrong.
"i'm going home." millie said, sadness filled her voice.
"what?" sadies expression was full of pure shock.
sadie will be so lost.
millie didn't even notice she was crying; neither did sadie.
sadie came close, rapping her arms around millie's neck. they were both crying.
sobbing.
millie held sadie's back, pulling her closer; if that was even possible. sadness filled the room.
what was she going to do without her best friend? sadie can't even walk down the halls by herself without millie attached at the hip.
though, they've only known each other for a very short time.
it was still sad.
but on the bright side; millie is better mentally. she gets to go home; see her parents, her family. she can even reunite with her school friends. she can use a phone like a normal teenager; she can simply go for awake to enjoy the sun. she can go swimming when it's hot. she can grow up like a normal 16 year old girl. she can get a boyfriend, move out of her parents house, maybe. she could get a job and be successful in life.
sadie is stuck there.
alone.
well. maybe not completely alone.
she of course still has finn.
probably the only sanity she'll have here.
they pull away from their hug, and millie sniffles whipping her and sadie's tears away.
"hey, it's going to be okay. i can come visit! and when you get out of here, i'll find you. everything will work out." millie tried to help the situation.
in reality; they'll probably never seen each other again.
millie was leaving that night; meaning sadie is left to sleep alone. which, was something she definitely didn't want to do.
they shared dinner together for the last time.
everyone was sad; especially noah.
while they were all distracted in a conversation, sadie touched finn's arm to get his attention.
"finn? will you sleep in millie's bed tonight? i don't want to be alone."
he gave her a sympathetic look.
"of course, saids."
she smiled lightly and continued eating her food.
after dinner, sadie never left millie's side til millie had to leave.
she couldn't say goodbye; she didn't know how. before millie was sent home the group embraced in a hug.
"i'm going to miss you so much, mills." noah was on a break of tears. millie was sobbing in everyone's arms.
it was a very emotional time.
"ill visit, i promise!" millie confirmed.
they watched her leave, through their windows.
sadie clanged to finn. her arms around his neck; and her legs rapped around his waist while he held her close to him.
she cried and cried til there was no more tears. he had brought her back to her room. she sobbing into his chest for almost two hours. finn couldn't do anything but comfort the ginger.
this was the moment when he realized she was the most important thing to him in the entire world. he just wants to make her happy. he wants to see her smile. she doesn't even have to do anything and she makes him happy. he wants to do that in return.
maybe he had a small crush on her.
sadie grew tired, she started falling sleep and finn stood up to leave her in her bed.
he stared at the ceiling; and so did she.
they sat in silence.
"finn?"
"hm?" he responded quietly.
"can you come sleep with me?"
finn didn't say anything, he just got up to her back in her bed.
the bed was small, twin sized. but sadie was also small. she faced the wall, away from him. he laid beside her, putting an arm around her waist so she felt secure.
he likes her.
he confirms it to himself.
he definitely likes her.
sadie shifted, turned around to face finn.
the stared at his eyes for a moment; taking everything in. then she closed her eyes, moved her head under his and fell asleep with her face on his chest.
though this was not the first time they fell asleep together; and most likely won't be the last. he was happy.
not at the fact that millie was leaving; but the fact that she used him at her safe place while she's struggling with her emotions.
he's knows what she's been through and that's probably why. she can trust him. he can trust her.
finn didn't fall asleep right away; he took in the warmth of her body heat, and enjoyed being close to her. he slowly leaned down and kissed her hair.
just lightly on the top of her head.
"I wish you were mine."
he fell asleep soon after.
what he didn't know was that, she was awake.
