"just be parked outside of the building, closer to the ally way." finn held the black telephone to his ear.
"i'll be there at 7, if you aren't out by 7:30 i'm leaving. i'm not getting in trouble because you want to run away with some girl." a older boy spoke from the other line.
"she's not just some girl, okay? but we'll be there. thank you, caleb."
finn hung up the phone , and turned to go find sadie. which, she was eating her food in the cafeteria.
dinner time of course, she sat at the table with lilia on her left, and noah across from her. but also, gaten; who doesn't normally sit with them was on lilia's left.
after finn sat beside the ginger, they indulged in a conversation.
after dinner, finn professed to take the girl back to her room but instead took her to the unknown staircase. she had her backpack on her back; holding both her and finn's things. which didn't consist of a lot. therefore, it was very light on her shoulders. going up the staircase; leading to the well known rooftop they've had many friendly encounters with each other on. finn lead her to the fire escape.
"what if i fall?" sadie stars at the rusty, unsafe latter leading down the side of the building.
"i'll go first, so if you slip, i can catch you." he reassured her.
the sky was dark but their eyes adjusted. the only light was the glow of the building under them and the streetlights of the city around them.
the latter creaked at finn's every step, after about getting a little less than half way, sadie started her way down as well.
when they finally reached the cold, hard cement flooring of the ally way; their vision was blinded by two headlights.
finn's eyes filled with excitement; those sadie had one other thing on her mind.

finn grabbed the girls hand, pulling her to the car where they would drive away from this hell hole and never look back.
finn opened the back door letting sadie in first, before climbing in shortly after. she driver turned around to meet the eyes of the ginger, and his expression dropped.
"sadie?"
"wait- you two know each other?" finn looked back and forth between the two. sadie didn't say anything, she didn't know what to say.
