-DemiShocked would be the understatement of the century. I didn't want to be right, but I was so sure something horrible had happened to her family. But no! She ran away!
I am more then just curious to know why, but she clearly didn't wanna talk about it, so I decided to stop asking. It's already surprising she even told me that in the first place. I mean, she came out of her room, she showered, she talked to me normally! Everything about the whole situation was unusual. And then she dropped a bombshell.
I know it's gonna be hard for me to look at her the same way now. Not because I think she did something bad. I have no idea why she ran away and what the story behind that is. Maybe she had a very good reason. But it does put everything in a whole different perspective. I'm just not sure what I'm supposed to do with this information. I mean, are the cops informed? Are they looking for her? Am I gonna get in trouble for having taken her in? What's the deal?
I'm not kicking her out though. She still does need a place to stay. Just because she told me how she ended up in her situation, doesn't change the circumstances one bit. She's still a young girl in need of a roof over her head and a caring adult. She still needs to go to school and graduate. She still needs food to eat and water to drink. She's still the same Caterina she was before. It's just that now I know a little bit about her and how she landed in my house. But I still love and care about her just as much, even if I cannot for the life of me understand why she ran away when she clearly loves and misses her family more then anything. But I'm very happy to see that she's slowly getting back to herself.
She stayed on the couch with me for a bit longer yesterday and even ate dinner in the kitchen with me, before she went back to her room for the rest of the night. And this morning was like any other morning before it had all happened and she again gave me a smile when I'd dropped her off at school. So we were going in the right direction, now I'm just waiting to see when bitch Cara is coming back, cause I know it will eventually I'm just hoping it's later rather then sooner. I really like this side of her."I heard you rang the bell yesterday," I roll my eyes when Maggie walks into my house. "I gave you the key for a reason."
"It was a good thing I didn't use it," she shrugs, as she sits down across from me. "You weren't even here."
"Well, it's good to see you again," I smile. "Your stubborn ass insisting you can't come here anymore," I shake my head.
"What's up with Cara anyway?" She asks.
"What do you mean?"
"She was so normal yesterday when I saw her. I mean, she looked like a wreck, but she was talking to me as if nothing happened."
I sigh and shrug my shoulders. "She decided she was done hiding, I guess. She actually cleaned up and came down afterwards," I smile. "I think she's getting back to herself. So you can stop beating yourself up over it, okay? And start coming over again cause this house is fucking boring."
"Okay, okay," Maggie laughs. "I'll stop having feelings and just do as you say."
"Fuck you," I laugh, as I stand up to go get her a cup of water.
"So, what crazy thing did she do last night?" Maggie asks once I'm sitting again.
"She was actually surprisingly sweet and cuddly."
Maggie's mouth drops open as her eyebrows almost jump to the roof. "Cuddly?" She asks. "As in, cuddling?"
"Yes, as in cuddling," I laugh. "We were sitting on the couch and she leaned in towards me and put her head on my shoulder. All by herself."
"You've got to be kidding," Maggie laughs. "I cannot imagine her being cuddly at all. That's so cute, though. She wasn't bitchy or anything?"
"Still waiting for that to happen."
