Chloe's POV
In a dream
"I love you. Please, don't leave!" I'm crying. He gasps and then, he laughs sadly yet beautifully.
"You see, we were wrong about something else in the prophecy." Lucifer walks up close to me, adding, "My first love was never Eve." He touches my cheek and I look into his brown eyes, he says, "It was you, Chloe. It always has been." He kisses me and I kiss back, I hold his face and Lucifer holds mine. I can't believe that's going to be our last kiss.
He slowly releases his grip on my face, and moves his lips off of mine. Tears fall from my eyes, sadly pleading, "Please, don't go." Lucifer looks sadly into my blue eyes and says, "Goodbye." Lucifer steps backwards letting go of me while doing so; he releases his wings from his back. They are so beautiful and white. I stare at them in awe. He touches me again, saying, "Goodbye." I hold his hand before he can pull it away, but, he succeeds. I close my eyes for a couple of seconds, the wind blows my hair and I open them. When I open my eyes, he was already gone.
Dream ends
Six Months Later
"Lucifer!" I wake up in my bedroom, but, I am not alone.
"Mom," Trixie says worriedly.
"Hey, Monkey," I greet her, trying not to sound silly or scared while I'm doing so.
"Did you had the dream again?"
"No. No, I didn't, sweetie," I lie to her, but, she senses it.
"Mom, please."
"Yeah, it was the same dream." Trixie walks in and closes the door behind her. She walks to my bedside and asks, "Did you see him?"
I nod slowly and pathetically. She climbs my bed and hugs me, tightly but lovingly. I hug her back.
"Maybe, he'd come back," Trixie says reassuringly.
"It's been six months, Trixie. He's not coming back. He can't."
"How do you know that?"
"Because... he's in a place that chooses to be in order to protect me." I look at her and she has a bewildered face. She doesn't know who Lucifer "really" is, I didn't tell her. I get up, hold Trixie's hands and say, "Look, it's very, very hard to explain, but, just know that if Lucifer wanted to come back, he would have. He's just far away."
"Where?"
"Very far, sweetie. Someplace where even I can't reach him."
"But, you miss him, Mom," Trixie points out.
"Yeah, I do. Alot." I hug her. I release my hold, "Now, go back to bed."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, baby. I'm fine," I reassure her.
"Okay. Good night, Mom."
"Good night, Trixie."
She jumps off the bed and when to the door; before she opens it, I say, "Trixie."
She turns around to face me. "Thank you for checking to see if I'm okay."
"You're welcome, Mom." She smiles before she exists.
I turn and look at the clock; it says, 03:30 A.M. I lay back and I try to sleep, and in no time, I drift off.
