Donatello's POV
Chloe and I take the elevator downstairs and we walk to the parking lot. Chloe unlocks her car and hops in, I hop in the seat next to her and she starts her car and drives off. I remain quiet for about two minutes of the car ride and I would have remained quiet if Chloe didn't find my silence suspicious.
"Earth to Mosquit," Chloe removes my attention from the window of her car.
"What?" I ask her calmly.
"You're quiet."
"And?"
"You're never quiet, Donatello." She noticing it would be an understatement. "What is it?"
"It's nothing," I lie, but she notices. "Nothing?" I nod, but, unfortunately, a nod isn't going to cut it. "Donatello, you and I have been partners for six months, I know when you're lying." I remain silent, but, she's persistent. "Come on, what is it?"
"If I ask the question, I'll upset you," I say sympathetically.
"I don't even..." she pauses abruptly, I look at her face; I'm guessing she's figured it out. "Right, that."
"Yeah, that."
"You want to know what Lucifer Morningstar has to do with five blondes' deaths." I nod slowly.
"Donatello..."
"See? I upset you, just forget it, Chloe." I try to move on from the topic.
"No, it's not because it's personal. It just..." she pauses again, hesitant to tell, but, she finally does. "Donatello, I've seen some scary, crazy things; things I can't explain to you."
"Because it's about Lucifer."
"Yes, but most of all, you wouldn't believe me." She looks at me with such seriousness, I know Chloe isn't the type to lie, not to mention, her eyes are filled with genuine honesty as are her words. I sigh and say, "Okay. I believe you, Chloe." She lightly sighs and she pushes her foot harder on the gas. We reach our destination in minutes.
Chloe's POV
After I park my car at our destination, I turn off my car and we jump out of my car. After we slam in our doors, the SWAT van rides up, inches away from us and park their van. They open the van door, and one by one, they hop out. They line up across from us, seconds later, Dan jumps out with his bulletproof vest on his chest already. He walks out with two bulletproof vests in each of his hands. "You guys forgot these," he says, handling it to us. "I'm not your errand boy, you know."
"No, because you would've reminded us about our bulletproof vests instead," Donatello jokes, Dan chuckles and I scoff. After a few seconds, Lieutenant Grunes and Maze drive up and park beside the SWAT van and hop out of his car. I'm actually surprised that Maze is still here, I thought she'd be gone by now.
"Looks like we've reached here just before the take-down starts," Lieutenant Grunes says, approaching us. Maze stands beside him at her both serious and happy.
"Maze, I'm surprised you're still here. I mean, shouldn't be with at Amenadiel taking care of Charlie?"
She looks at Lieutenant Grunes in the eyes before she speaks, "Yeah, I figured that you guys would really appreciate it if I help out with catching this psycho."
"Aw, that's sweet, Maze," I compliment on her potential assistance. "But, don't worry, Maze, we've got this."
"Chloe, trust me, you're going to need all the help you can get." Maze says with sheer confidence and awareness of the threat we're about to face.
