Chloe's POV

After a good 15 minutes of driving with the SWAT van behind us, luckily, we finally arrive at the suspect's location. I pull my car over and park it. Maze, Donatello and I hop out of the car, shortly after the van pull over and Dan jumps out of it with the lieutenant and the SWAT behind them. They're in the bulletproof vests, and Dan's holding two extra vests in each hand.

"Sorry, Maze. I would've one brought one for you, but I knew you would've just say no." Gabriel points out accurately. I grab and put mine on and Donatello puts his own on too.

After attiring ourselves, Dan, Donatello and I devise a plan to get the sadistic bastards. As soon as we finish, I say, "Let's go."

We quickly approach the motel gate and walk pass the check-in guard at her post who is definitely alarmed. She immediately walks out, wanting to know what's going on, fortunately Donatello reassures her and says that we're the cops. The A team stays downstair led by Dan, the B team walks around the back of the motel led by Sergeant Phillips and the C team, which is led by me.

We quickly walk up the stairs to yhe suspect's room, while approaching the room we slow down and I lend my ear toward the door to listen for any noise. My head a few inches away from the peep-hole. I slowly pull back myself and I whisper, "Nothing."

Maze looks at me and asks, "You mind if I..."

"No, go."

Within a instant, Maze walks from behind me and kicks in the door to suspect's room.

Without hesitation, we all rush inside the room, including Maze. I scan the room and there is a bag on the bed in the corner of the room. Strangely the place is kind of empty and smells horrible. I sniff and instantly cover my nose after smelling the room.

"You guys smell that?" I ask.

" Yeah," Gabriel and Donatello respond disgustedly.

While Maze walks toward at what seems to be a bathroom door, when she reaches the door, she opens it slowly. Her face is unfazed almost as if there's nothing there, but she calls me. "Chloe."
I walk toward her and as I approach her, she asks, "Is that Susan Henderway?"

I shake my head for confirmation. Susan's body is lying on the bathroom mat with about 2 or 3 pints of blood bledding out of her.

"What's the other smell?" Maze asks absurdly.

"Pretty sure it's a dead body, Maze."

"No, it's not her." Maze pulls the curtain to the left, and we gaze upon another dead body - this one is in the bath-tub, partially submerged in his blood.

"Guys, Susan Henderway..."

"Is not the killer," Lieutenant Grunes finishes my sentence. I turn around and see him holding a note from the bag the he opened, which has the exact words. I walk toward him and explain, "Not just that. But there's two bodies in the bathroom."

"Similarly, I'm not done either," he says cryptically, as pulls out a phone of that could belong to either of the deceased in the bathroom. Maze and I go around him to see what's going on. He clicks on the on/off button. The phone is unlocked and with a uploaded video that says, "Play me." He touches it, and out of the blue, it instantly connects to the TV which is on the wall.

The video is a bit blurry at first, but as it plays for a few more seconds, everything is now clear. No one is in the video, yet.

"Ohhhhh, two strikes, detective," the distorted voice speaks, before he reveals himself in the video, holding a chair in his hand. "Another murder, once again." He opens the chair and sits in it, and looking emotionlessly at the camera, he says, "People are dead. People who you solemnly sworn to protect are dead. Five - No, wait. Six girls and a male. And I'm not sure this matters at all, but I didn't kill him, per se. In fact, my lovely partner, and she is just as sadistic as I am. A true deviant - she pierced his throat as he was drowning in the bath-tub. Hell, he was practically begging for us to spare him and I wish I could say that I didn't enjoy every moment of that thriller, unfortunately, I would be lying. And you've,well, "met" me I didn't lie to you, not one bit. But, this is all your doing, Detective Chloe Decker. I asked you one person - one simple person and you couldn't get him for me. Me, doing you a favor. Now, I've done all this killing, and there's still no Lucifer, Detective Decker. Well, I'll reckon there's one reason why that's so. Reason number one: being he's too occupied in his first job, which is too, without a lack of a better word, hellish or reason number two: he simply doesn't give a damn about you. At all. And if it is the latter, I guess you really don't matter to him."

Then, all of a sudden, I see the TV's being smashed by a some sort of projectile; it's completely cracked and electrifying slightly. When I turn to look at my lieutenant, I realize he is infuriated, and I look down to see that his hand is empty - no phone in either of his hands. I look back at the TV and immediately realize that so-called projectile was the phone.

"That bastard," he roars. He clenches his fist, and he calms himself down somewhat. Everyone in the room is staring him. He turns around, looks at me straight in the eye and says wholeheartedly, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Chloe." Before I could reply, he quickly walks out the motel room.
