Gabriel's POV

I drive quickly the crime scene, and we finally arrive there. I park my car in the corner and we hop out of the car, but, not before I grab the bottle Amenadiel gave to me. I close my and she closes hers, and I lock my car. She walks over the other side and I walk behind her. She raises the caution tape and ducks under and I duck under too.

"I know the place would have been more..."

"Unpleasant." She nods. "Well, it isn't. Now, the important question: do you have anything?"

"I'm not K-9, Gabriel!"

"I'm sorry I just thought you were the expert in tracking anybody."

"Well, not under pressure."

"Okay. I'll lay out."

"Thank you."

I look around to distract myself  just until she finds something. Then I start a conversation.

"You know, Mazikeen, I didn't ask for this," I can literally feel her watching me. Now I regret starting this talk, but, I continue on. "This burden that I have on my body."

She looks at me and says, "Well, you look like you're handling it pretty good."

"Is that an insult, Mazikeen?"

"No. Never," she replies sarcastically. I stand there in front of her looking sincerely disappointed.

"Right. Right, don't expect you to understand, after all, you're a..." I stop because I know I'd say something that I might regret.

"I'm a, what?"

"Nothing, just forget it." I walk away, but she stops me.

"No, you're gonna tell me, because I'm only here to help save your ass." She touches me on the chest, pushing me in the process; I choose not to retaliate because I'd probably make things worse. She continues, "Plus, you're the one who brought me on this human hunt. So, finish your sentence, Gabriel. Because I'm what?"

"A demon, Mazikeen!" She triggers me to burst it out. She looks shocked and undoubtedly hurt. "You have a family, a body, but, you don't have a soul, Mazikeen. See, you may think that this isn't hurting me at all, but, honestly, it's tearing me from the inside out. So, all your seeing right now is a facade, and no one is able to see through it. I wish so desperately for someone see through it, but, nothing happens. You have no idea how hard this is for...."

"Don't say it!" Mazikeen stops me from going any further. "You think that you have the audacity to yell in my face and knowing how I feel! Lucifer didn't leave you, Gabriel. He left Charlie, Amenadiel, Daniel, Trixie, Ella, Linda, me, and not to mention, Chloe. The woman that he'd do anything to protect, and yes, I may be a demon, I may not have a soul, but, you know? Charlie makes me feel like I do and I would never let anyone or anything harm him or my family. And I'm talking about the ones on Earth. You've only been here for six months, I've been here for nearly six years, so don't pretend like you're the only one..." she pauses abruptly.

"What?" I ask curiosity fills my mind.

"I smell something," she replies bluntly, then she slowly walks to sniff out the odour. I follow her.

She walks up to the bushes a little pass where the team and I found the five blondes. She stomps down and sniffs out the odour to see what it is. She raises her body upwards and says, "Weird." I'm stomping down right next to her, wondering what the eff she's talking about, absolutely confused.

"What is, Mazikeen?" I ask anxiously.

"Cologne - she sprayed it in her shoes," Mazikeen buries the lead there.

"Wait, she? How do you know it's a she?"

"Well, A, what kind of man would spray cologne in his shoes?"

"A very, very eccentric one."

"And, B, there's this," she points at one of the leaves that has lipstick on it. Red lipstick. "Clearly, you're not the expert in catching bad guys."

"Mazikeen, that wasn't there before." She looks at me strangely; I add, "And I'm guessing neither was that."

"If these weren't here before that means..."

"They came back."

"Yeah, but, what for?"

"My impeccable guess: to deliver something." I raise up from the ground and sigh. She raises up and says, "Well, at least you know they're not demons."

"Yeah, that is a good thing. But, what's really important is where the message is." I look around, scanning my surroundings and nothing yet.

"Hey, you really think they'd just leave here for you to find it?"

"Well, they think it's some kind of game, and if that's true, they want to be captured. But, not by me," I say, looking around, tilting my head to another direction.

"Then, who?" Mazikeen asks curiously.

"They want Samael," I say blankly and as I say that I find it. 'I think I found it." I walk up behind the bushes and find a mysterious glass bottle. I put my hand in my left pocket and pull out my gloves. I put them on and pick up the bottle. There's something inside of it, a recorder. I look at Mazikeen before opening the bottle, she shrugs. I scoff, but, I open it all the same.

I place the recorder in my hand and press the "play" button.

"You are making me bored." A voice says, it sounds like a male voice, although the person can be using a voice moderator. The voice is a deep, sinister and a bit muffled, but, the person mentions a name, it instantly catches all of my attention, "Five blondes are now dead because of you, Detective Decker, their blood is on your hands. And way more blood is going to be added to your hands if you don't get me what I want. Get me Lucifer! Or else."

It stops playing, that recording sends shivers down my spine. I'm worried now - but not for me, for Chloe. I turn around and look at Mazikeen straight in eye.

"Hey, you are going to catch this guy and save Chloe and whoever else this woman is targeting next," Mazikeen says to reassure me. But, it doesn't work.

"It's too late." I hopelessly add, "He or she already has the girl. Another blonde."

"You don't know that."

"Yes, I do, but, this time she's going to broadcast it globally. We seriously need to warn Chloe. I have to tell her about it and I need to do that now."

I hold on tightly to the evidence and we quickly run over to my car; I unlock my car and we hop into the car. I start it and we drive off.
