"what do you mean got away ?!?!? Didn't the guys take care of it !!!" I raise my voice as I looked at him in disbelief. He just sat there as he scratched his head probably trying to figure out how to explain everything.
"They were, but then we figured out that he had more guys working for him than we thought . Alex said they came in the night we found you and they were out numbered , the guys being distracted gave them a chance to escape" I felt scared once again as I heard those words come out of his mouth.
"Austin what if they're looking for me ?!?!? They knew I escaped !!! They probably want to kill me !!!!!" I scream as many scenarios cross my mind on how they might find me. I started to have a panic attack again as I was startled at the idea. As my stomach began to churn and I felt light headed. I feel a pair of strong hands hold me on my arms as they shook me to listen.
"Nothing. Is. Going. To. Happen. To. You." He said stopping at every single word so I heard him loud and clear. He looked deep into my eyes as he tried seeing what I understood and what I didn't. I gave a soft nod as I look down
I begin to give my all trying to sit up straight as I grab my crutches from the side of my bed. "Where are you going?" He questioned as he didn't make a move to let me out.
"I need air Austin, maybe I should go at least once outside and die remembering how it was to actually go out for once" I replied tiredly. Tired of everything. Tired of all the danger I've gone through and still haven't escaped.
"Amy I said you're safe, as long as I'm around you no harm will get in your way. I promise"
"That's what my dad said back when I was 6. He said he'd always be my hero. He said he'd always be my protector" my eyes felt watery again but I wouldn't budge . "Yet he's not here. So how would I know you wouldn't leave ?" He looked to the floor as he deeply sighed and stayed quiet.
"Exactly. Now please move" I say as I try getting over his legs that were still on the floor since he was kneeling on my bed.
"I'll go with you" he says as he gets up before I could stop myself
"NO." I say quickly. His eyes saddened but he quickly gave way as i limped out of the room holding a crutch in each hand with my hospital dress. Passing by I mostly looked to the floor trying to ignore eye contact with everyone. I just wanted this time for myself, it was the least I could have.
