I sit outside of the hospital, back where the garden is at. taking in the fresh air as it flowed through out the windy day, The sun shined like a nice spring day as the colors of the flowers added so much color into the small garden. I pick out a small daisy and take it in my hands observing how Pretty it was. The white pedals, the green stem , everything.

"Why Amy. Why are you so stupid. You should've just never met Austin." I tell myself as I look up seeing a couple of people besides me in a few picnic tables. I see an old lady as she looked at a few flowers in her wheelchair. As she looks over at me she gives me a warm comforting smile. I smiled back as I looked back to the floor

(Austins POV)

I look at Amy from the third floor onto the garden. She looked unhappy, as she just stared at flowers. I ask myself if I never came into her life, what would it be like ? The windowsill was big enough for me to take in her whole view but to small for her to identify that I was looking at her. It felt like she wanted to be alone so I decided to leave and go home. As I walk out of her room I bump into a nurse named Carrie. I met her back when Amy first came to the hospital. She was also the one that informed me about the DNA test.

"Oh hi Austin" she says smiling at me. She wore those nurse outfits/ medical outfits with her clipboard looking professional. I gave her a small smile

"Heyy Carrie how are you ?"

"I'm good , listen I was coming to give you this." She hands me a packet as I take questioning what it was. "It's the DNA test" she says pointing at it. My eyes quickly widen as my hands quickly wanted to open it and just read what it all said. But I had to keep my cool as she just stood there saying something but I didn't know what.

"I'm sorry what was that?" I say getting out of my sudden thoughts

"Nevermind Austin how about you just open it up and talk to me after you've read everything" chuckling she gave me a pat on the back " thanks " I say as she left turning to the right of a hallway and leaving my sight.

This is it.

"Should I open it ?" I ask myself as I grew impatient. The big yellow packet in my hands. I decided to go to the car where it was more private. Walking down the hall I got in the elevator Going inside was a little girl in a wheel chair as she had those wires inside her nostrils. She gave me a pretty smile as she pulled on her moms shirt telling her something about me. Before I stopped myself I realized I was hunched down talking to her. "Hi beautiful how are you ?" I say as she blushed a little. Her mom encouraged her to talk

"I'm good," she hardly said.

"And what's your name ?" I ask as I hold out my hand for her to shake.

"Lylah" she replied in a chirpy happy way.

"That's a really pretty name for a really pretty girl" I giggle and she gave back huge smiles. The elevator door opened as I realized we were to our destination. Getting up I walked out and Lylah's mom walked out pushing her on the wheelchair.

"I'm Anne nice to meet you" her mom said as she smiled

"I'm Austin nice to meet you" I put the packet over to one hand and I shook hers with my free one.

"Sorry she tends to love meeting new people , it's just her personality" she chuckled as she bent over giving Lylah a gentle hug returned by giggles.

"It's alright she's adorable, how old is she ?"

"She's going to turn 6 in a few months"

"Well she's a total sweetheart" I say as I bed down giving her a hug

"Listen I gotta go do something right now but , if it's okay with your mom if you're ever bored and want to play with someone id gladly love to play with you" I tell her.

"Even princess ?!?" She excitedly says

"Even princess" I chuckle.

"Mommy is that okay ?!" She asks looking up at her as I do as well

"Alright, as long as Austin here doesn't feel forced into anything" she giggles

"Never that." I get up as I tell her

"Thank you" she mouthed as I brought her into a friendly hug

"Just tell me her room number" I say as she wrote it down on a paper and handed it to me

"Okay Lylah lets go we have to get to the therapist" she said as she started to push the wheel chair again

"Bye Austin !!" She turned to wave goodbye as I did the same as well as smiling.

After i walked out the main entrance going to the car. I opened it and got inside. The packet before me I took in a deep breath.

Moment of truth

I closed my eyes for a few seconds clearing my mind. Opening them again I turned the envelope and opened the top as I took out the papers. Some were for more information and any questions. My no interest in them ended up putting them aside as I found the one that read 'results' as I scanned through it finding where it said the answer. Time felt like it went slower as my eyes felt as if they widened. My heart skipped a beat as I sat there and all at once i was shocked at what it read.
